Starting a DLE Engine : Tips & How-To’s

If everything is well build and in order that engine runs very well and is easy to start by hand but be careful! Especially when you beginning and your nerves are stressed because it takes a while to adjust it well. Once you have finished the adjustment only small changes on the carburettor are needed .

1.5 turns on both needles is wrong. That is too rich for the low side. On every 2 stroke engine I have ever worked on, 3/4 is a good starting point on the low side, and 1.5 on the high side. Start, and warm up the engine, and make the final adjustments.
