I completely understand Josi. I was told that I couldn’t have children which broke my heart (about 8 years ago). After many years of making peace with that and healing my body to the best it could be, my now fiancé and I have been blessed with our six month old baby girl. I understand the heartache of people asking questions, seeing friends progress in their lives which is both wonderful yet painful. Focusing on where you and Charlie are in your lives now, blocking out the white noise and nourish your body will help immensely. Sending love to you both x

I am glad that you have approached the conversation in the way that you have - my husband and I had ivf at age 34 to get our little miracle. It is not a miracle. This is a innocent human being you are deciding to put in a broken world hoping the world will be a better place one day, but scientist and facts say otherwise. Meanwhile, You all have kids just to put photos of on social medias to get praises and are against adopting all those abandonned kids. Most if not everyone I know with kids have secret affairs elsewhere or wish they hadn't had kids. Think. This is not about just you.

Smart. People want to rush into everything. All the ones I know who had kids under 35-38 complained about not being financially mentally and physically energetic enough. They conplain about their youth escaping them their freedom. I know many who had affairs and double secret lives due to not being fulfilled and "damaging" their freedom, career health and youth too young. DESPITE their social media posts of the perfect happy family. Social medias mean nothing. You have to think also about our broken world and climate change.

Got pregnant at 32. But prior was getting my body ready to hold a baby. Stopped drinking cut sugar and kept up with my gym sessions. Number 1 thing is trying not to stress which my doctor mentioned but it is so hard. So stay positive throughout your journey!! You will be blessed with beautiful children❤

Josie darling no-one absolutely no-one, should be asking you or Charlie when you're starting a family. Especially people who don't even actually know you. You share whatever you want when you're both good and ready even if everyone has guessed beforehand. However you decide and when you decide to have a baby, the important thing is that it will be right for the both of you and that child will be beyond loved!! Take care darling ❤

100% agree Josie. I’ve been married for 8 years and my husband and I always wanted kids, but also wanted to spend some of our married years just the two of us first. The most annoying question from Family and Friends was asking if we actually wanted them because we didn’t try straight away! We’re now expecting our first and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect for us x I’m also 32.

Just watching my sweet baby sleeping in the monitor while watching this. We weren’t actively trying, but I decided to go off birth control and see what would happen. Got pregnant instantly after 15 years of marriage at age 37. I honestly thought it would be a struggle to get pregnant at my age, but apparently not. Sending baby dust your way ❤️ Looking forward to your mom content!

I completely agree with u about the baby topic. The thing that gets me is the pressure by family & friends, especially the potential grandparents. Why would anyone think it’s ok to pressure someone to have a child?! It’s the biggest responsibility for anyone, to bring a human into the world & raise them. It’s ok to have a life time partner & not be married. It’s ok to not have children. As women we have the choice to conceive &/or marry. I find it rather rude when someone asks, “when’s the wedding?” “When are u having baby?” Once u have one child, people will literally ask u right after u’ve given birth in hospital healing, “so when’s the second one?” I’m married 17yrs with 1 child & he’s 16 now, I’m not having anymore.💖☺️

I was lucky my parents have never asked when/ if I'm starting a family, maybe something to do with them being married 7 years before my sister came along - can you imagine this in the 60's with a large local extended family? My MIL did ask my husband when we were going to start a family(we'd been together for a couple of years, but weren't yet married). She then realised that the reason was maybe we couldn't, so it was a little inappropriate to keep asking and hasn't asked since. Although we don't know if we could have kids (never a given), it was an active choice not to, and not one that we've regretted.

Check out the book It Starts with the Egg by Rebecca Fett. Sperm quality and egg quality are BOTH factors when it comes to falling pregnant. I saw testimonials of people who did IVF but then fell pregnant after taking the tips in the book. Just thought I would share. It does also help with IVF success.

Just recently found out that I'm expecting my second, I'm 36, and had my first one at 33. My biggest advice if I'm allowed, besides your "public" life, just keep it for yourself as much as possible, the more information you share the more pressure you're putting on it and for this journey you need 0 stress. It will happen when it has to happen and we will be happy once you're able to announce it. Meanwhile, good luck!

I’m always horrified when people openly ask questions about having children. It’s not only rude but falls into very deep seeded patriarchal roles. It should not be expected that a woman or a couple wants to have children - nor anyone’s business but their own. The only aspect of aging I’m looking forward to is the cessation of the comments and questions which usually come from people who are near strangers.

soooo true! I dislike that you have to learn all about the hardships on the go, where fueled with hormones you are not thinking straight - and this amplifies any bad experiences. I noticed i was depressed for a about a year after birth of my son, and as soon as i stopped pumping milk, i changed over night and returned to my normal self. I was shocked to notice the difference so quickly while before i just had no idea what was happening.

I would rather you were relaxed and enjoyed life and we don't need to know as long as you are happy. Charlie looked so relaxed on that sofa and the fire so cosy. I don't have a fire but do have a cast iron electric stove that is lovely and in 5 weeks we will get cooler morns and eves and it is fine - seasons change and we enjoy them. I just love your videos Josie 🥰 so many topics I love. Normally I don't comment but felt a bit compelled on with the subject of people asking personal questions around starting a family. I totally agree it is a very sensitive area for many and should be treated carefully. If and when you and Charlie decide to become parents you will be amazing. Sounds like you have a fantastic approach which is to take the pressure off, keep healthy & happy, what better way to go into this fertility journey. Our journey has been extremely difficult, 12 years of fertility treatment, several painful miscarriages (I really feel for the ladies here who have experienced this) and after a lot of soul searching we decided to stop persuing fertility treatment and we're now looking at fostering. The mental health side of fertility is often overlooked, so take care of your self talk and be kind to yourself lovely lady x

Hi Josie, you are right, It's important to take folate, folic acid, for at least two months before trying for a baby, it's the time that takes for your body to be able to incorporate that into the embryo, doing it right before the pregnancy hasn't the same level of benefits, another thing you might consider is professional teeth cleaning, because pregnancy can cause changes the microbiome and sugar metabolism, which makes the body more prone to cavities. PS. Love your sunset fuchsia flowers, they look incredible❤ ❤

@@CleanChic, of course you can be happy without having kids. Kids are expensive, can be selfish and lazy - especially teenagers! And when they start calling you "bruh" in a conversation, you start questioning how you brought them up! I hope that didn't put anyone off!😆🙈

Hello Josie, fully agree it’s private. It’s not something people should ask, as like you said you don’t know what someone is going though and for some people who can’t have kids it’s a awful thing to be asked. Share what you what to share it’s your personal journey.

I’m so glad to have warning before you’re ‘suddenly’ pregnant. I hope you’ll still do fun things unrelated to childbearing once that time comes. It might be time for me to drift away when you enter that stage of life. Sort of like real life when people couple up then have children, we happily single women are no longer energetically compatible with them. You’re a joy to watch now. Wishing you all future happinesses.

Yes! This is wonderful. Homeopathy and herbal medicine, as well as nutrition can work wonders for supporting fertility naturally! Through my holistic health and herbalist practice I’ve seen many lovely clients naturally conceive, even after being diagnosed as clinically infertile. Even my sister with PCOS used my herbal recommendations and lifestyle changes and her baby boy turns 2 next month!

I also think that talking to a psychologist can help, as being unwillingly child-less is extremely hard mentally - there are studies that show that couples about to start ivf can really benefit, it increases the chances of ivf being successful, and there were a significant number got pregnant without the help of ivf. I also personally know three couples who needed ivf first time around, and the second pregnancy was unplanned, and I'm convinced that it was to do with them being in a better state of mind!

@@danishpastry6137 hypnosis is also wonderful for that. Therapy is wonderful but hypnosis goes right into the subconscious mind and programs it from there. It’s definitely a pursuit of mind body and spirit.

Thank you so much for sharing those subjects which are difficult for a lot of couples and feel so uncomfortable when people ask when we are having children it’s strange we still ask this question though not putting any thoughts into what that couple might be going through. More of us need to talk about how it’s not easy to just get pregnant!! ❤

Love your Hobbs Dress. By far one of the prettiest you have worn. Just think of the drizzle as a restorative for the garden. All the trees, plants and bushes have been growing and producing . Just like when you come out of the shower and you mist your face, it feels so good to your skin. Bet the plants have the same sensations 😊

Great opener. Garden is glorious. I was married and my husband 10 years older and I wanted a family and he was not bothered so in quite a loveless marriage I was shocked to get pregnant easily twice. I used to joke that it was immaculate conception. I was nervous to have a second child after having pre-eclampsia and my daughter arriving 2 weeks early after being rushed into hospital with protein in my urine but my second came along and I decided no more babies. I had 3.5 years apart and that was perfect. What is meant to be is meant to be is my philosophy and I had no sickness just tiredness and luckily 2 healthy girls.

Drizzle. That is something that I get every year where I live in Southern CA. Although it is pleasant but there is something about hearing rain against the ground and against the window. I'd rather have rain but drizzle is so gentle for your garden. Enjoy it!

Our daughter had 5 or 6 miscarriages. It was a long and very hard time for her and husband. It took years to get the right doctor to help her be able have her 2 kids. She was not mentally healthy during that time. Her siblings were adding to their families durning her loses. Be careful how you talk to people💕

Honestly, I adore these rainy, drizzly day vlogs!! All I can think is "won't their garden look so amazing the next day!?" Here in the southern US, we've been baking all summer in a heatwave and drought, so I'll trade you the chilly drizzle for the suffocating heat when your plants die and you can't leave the house...?? Maybe? 😂

I completely agree that question can be so hurtful to many. We got married 10 years ago in November. We was always asked by someone about our plans for children. It was a knife to my heart every time. I have endometriosis and 1 ovary removed. We have been told we will never have children naturally and a very low chance conceiving with ivf. Unfortunately it’s no one’s fault and that’s the cards we have been dealt with. After nearly 18 years of trying for children it’s something I will never not wish for. However my expectations are realistic and that’s ok. We have finally come to terms with it all. We are starting our journey with adoption and giving a child our love. You are completely right the subject should be dealt with carefully. I also find there is not enough awareness or discussion for this in the uk. Exactly like you said my niece thought the same get married have children. I’ve taken the time to explain it in a way she can understand and it has really helped. I wish you all the best and luck in the journey to becoming parents ❤️❤️

I live in the US in Pennsylvania, and we have drizzle. Some people refer to it as mist. However, there is a difference between the two of them. As for the topic of having a baby, I am like you. There are some topics that are private and personal. I don't ask about religion, politics, marriage, and I don't ask about babies unless it is brought up by them. And yes, even if you avoid these topics, there are still plenty of things to talk about.

I think asking couples when they are having children is a real “no no” - as you say - you have no idea if people want to it even are able to - I couldn’t have children - and the times (many years ago now) people would ask me - was awful !!!! I wish you and Charlie all the luck in the world when you decide to start ‘trying’ - having additional health issues isn’t going to make it easy - but I’m sure it will happen when your ready.

I know of three couples this happened to, I think the stress of not conceiving contributes, and once a child does arrive with the help of ivf the stress is reduced (that and the fact that couples who needed ivf first time around are less likely to use contraception).
