Starting a new sketchbook 2021 with 100 drawing prompts

This is the first time I'm doing a sketchbook tour. It was requested by people on Instagram that I show how the 100 drawing prompts list I created back in June went. These drawings use a combination of materials from ball point pens to gouache paints. As with any sketch book I love some of the drawings and dislike others, but the prompts list I created was a great way to get me out of my art block, help me with drawing ideas to get the creative juices flowing and has helped me fill up some pages in my sketchbook.
If you have art block, I highly suggest starting a drawing prompts list. There are tons out on the internet, I just decided to create my own by combining ideas from a bunch. I feel that having a list of ideas helped me draw something even on days I didn't feel like it.

Thank you @JJ ArtoArt. I try to use my sketchbook to try out new ideas before potentially doing bigger pieces of a particular topic. The drawing prompts allowed me to get even more creative; as I didn't want to just draw the exact item that the prompts called for.

Maybe this will sound out there, but imho? Any sketch, drawing or painting they gets a response, IS * ART*! So,, just draw what is in you that YOU see and express the moment(s) with whatever tools are handy or that you fabricate to get the effect you might like, or not. BUT!...Somebody else OUT THERE will!!!! You look like you've got that down..LOL VE the Flamingo, and the Octo. on treasure chest is cool!...I'm still watching, so..thank you for sharing your image making with us. You obviously enjoy it!! I love to do some Arting when I feel like it. Its good for you! I would like to spend more time teaching myself to do more, but I'm a instant results kind of gal..I have maybe too many interest to be a slave to just one! At least, I never get too bored?? But then,, I probably don't have what it takes to be a Famous Illustrator, like Arthur Rackham and the like..I LOVE that style, as well as vintage illustrated postcards..So, that's my goal to understand how you get an illustration idea to form....I can copy from others or be inspired by a certain style and render my version. But its not the what I'm trying to figure out. Perhaps practise every day diligently? Sorry for the ramble.. Keep doing your lovely art!!😀🌹👍🙋

Love the ramble and thanks so much for watching @maineiacts! My desire has always been to inspire others and art is truly my greatest passion. I am also someone on the bandwagon for having lots of interests ;) Very cool that we are both from Iowa. I would definitely say practice helps. I feel like a sketchbook is a great way to practice and never realized how great a tool drawing prompts could be. I thought about doing a two part drawing prompts list, on one side having the prompt and the other side having the style you have to do it in. Basically to just help further your talents. One thing I will say is that art is hard to be an "instant results kind of gal" and I say that because a lot of times my art looks worse before it looks better. Something I kindly like to refer to as "the ugly stage"

Hi @M_F I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! Sorry to hear about your art slump, they can definitely be a struggle to get through. As far as the art prompts, I have this specific list out on my Instagram account if you'd like to check it out. Otherwise I googled, looked at lists on Instagram and Pinterest and then combined my favorites to make my own. I choose a few things that I wouldn't normally draw so that I could challenge myself a bit further. Hopefully that helps
