True... I never really enjoyed it to its fullest because I never bought all the DLC, but now that they cost less I'm thinking of doing my self a Christmas present and return the first cities: skyline 😂

CS1 just looks better aesthetically. I think it’s the lighting.

For me it's just the artstyle. CS2 strives for too much realism, so any asset, road, lighting glitch or whatever that looks weird breaks the immersion. CS1 looks mad goofy sometimes, for example the donut vans, but it fits in the game because the artstyle allows it to.

to me cs2 looks so flat, its probably textured up close but from far away (which is where you are 99% of the time) everything just looks like plastic

You are an absolute legend! I've been looking for someone making content with the new maps because I've been trying to build on them myself but sometimes lack inspiration or motivation. I've been building on this same map and have around 10,000 cims at the moment but thats usually the point in the build where I decide I don't like the city I've built and start again 😅 I have nearly 500 hours on CS1 on console and have never finished a city, I always give up around that 10k mark so it really helps having people like you and overcharged egg continuing to put out these top quality CS1 builds 🙌🏼

I forgot about all the little tricks for vanilla CS1, like drawing roads off exit ramps to reduce their angle off the highway.

Everytime, I play CS1 or watch others. The #1 thing I’m always reminded of is just how easy it is to make and fix zone grids. CS2 for being more free with its road building tools is such a massive pain in the back side when it comes to getting zoning grids. It’s why I feel like CS1 is still the better game, if you are going to make a game that is based on a zoning grid, the task of creating those grids shouldn’t make me want to pull my hair out.

Alright! It's great to see you doing Vanilla CS1 again. I've just started a super-light asset build on Tranquility Cove with only a few planters, a couple of plazas, JorgePunte's service buildings and two electricity substations. Everything else Vanilla, I swear! I still don't have CS2 so it's a real pleasure to see you do this one. Is the music from one of the radio packs, btw?
