Thanks for another great episode. Jennifer Beale has such interesting construction! Always a fun knit. I haven't tried mosaic crochet yet but those blankets are so tempting.

The reason why all Marie Amelie’s designs are free is because she stepped away from designing a couple of years ago, saying it was too overwhelming for her. Her designs are gorgeous, but I haven’t made any yet. So just be aware that pattern support is likely not available. Enjoy!

Thank you so much for letting me know. I'm sad that she stopped designing, but I understand that it can be very overwhelming. I am really thankful that she kept her designs up and decided to share them with us though ❤️

I bought the snowdrop hat and matching mittens by Wool and Pine as soon as I saw them. I couldn't resist them. They are so pretty!

I can definitely see why, they both are really pretty 🙂

Those cat gnomes are ADORABLE! Good for you knitting sweaters for your kids! Mine daughter is grown and I still won’t knit one for her because I don’t believe she’d wear it. LOL.

I understand! My Husband doesn't get one because I don't think he'd wear it either 😅

Hi Mandy. I'm curious (as a newer sweater knitter) why didn't you just start with the neck ribbing on your daughter's sweater? I have so many patterns saved either in favorites or my library that it's a bit overwhelming when I want to choose my next knit. I decided to make a year long queue (not including socks or gnomes 😏) and try to stick to that. Of course new ideas can be added to favorites but I hope I'm able to complete the queue as planned.
@mandyvaughnknits7 күн бұрын
I keep a running queue in my head of my next few projects that I want to tackle. I think it keeps me focused on what I want to do 🙂. For the neckline, I always look at what size I'm knitting. If I cast the ribbing on, I need to do a very stretchy cast on and then the entire weight of the sweater is hanging on the ribbing. If I do a cast on and start working the sweater, it gives the neckline more structure. When my son was in about a size 6, I started to notice that the neck on the Flax was growing larger as he wore it. I was using a heavier weight yarn at the time, but I've always stuck with casting on after the ribbing after that. It's also easier to size the ribbing after you have the sweater done. I hope that makes sense - I actually did the same thing with my Stripy Unicorn. I held off the neck until the very end and just kept it on the needle. I wasn't sure what type of neck I wanted and it's easier to decide after everything else is done 🙂

That pink sweater is a stunning colour. Looking forward to seeing your stripebuster over advent, cream is usually a good neutral that will go with most colours.
@mandyvaughnknits6 күн бұрын
I agree with the cream color. I think it'll go well with most colors, so it's a good pick to break up the advent stripes 🙂

That antique fillligree sweater is sooo gorgeous! I’m just like you I want to make everything I see. I have the flax dk and socks on my needles now. If I have too much going on I get overwhelmed.
@mandyvaughnknits7 күн бұрын
It’s so hard to choose what to knit next - everything looks so tempting! I definitely agree with feeling overwhelmed with too much though. That's why I like to pattern window shop.. 😅 It gives a chance to look at the patterns and keep them in the back of my mind for when I need a new project 🙂

Thank's for another episode . Your sons' sweater is lovely ! And I bet your daughters' will be too, once finished. With those colours you can't go wrong, right ? I'm curious to see what the Kalika will look if you knit it in that gradient ( once you find the time for it.. ), I think that design is gorgeous. The Antique Filligree caught my eye as well ! Maybe, someday.. Happy Thanksgiving for you and your family !
@mandyvaughnknits7 күн бұрын
I'm really curious about how Kalika will look in a gradient as well. I feel like the gradient is so subtle that it should be okay around the neckline detail and not distract from it. But honestly, I have no clue. We'll find out together 😅. Thank you so much for your kind comments and I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving too!

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day! The Recalibrate is a relaxing knit. I enjoyed it because of the garter stitch. Normally I don’t use it very often, so I was happy to incorporate it here 🙂

I go down the pattern rabbit hole ALL THE TIME. I haven't finished the projects I am working on, but keep finding new ones I want to make. It's just like books... My tbr and tbk(?) are getting so ridiculous. Not enough time to do everything

Make sure to let your hand rest. I'm so sorry that it's been bothering you since the Halloween cowl. Does crochet bother you? Would it be a better option? When I saw Mrs. Fezziwig on your Advent video, I had to put it on my list. It's so beautiful! 🙂

@mandyvaughnknits I noticed you found something ☺️ made me very happy! My hand is doing much better & I had been crocheting but then that hand swells which was why I started knitting in the first place 🙄 I am at least out of the brace more so 🤞Have a great Thanksgiving

Did you get a new intro for your vlogs or am I delusional again? Either way, I like it. I also love your advent sweater. I'd join in but the thought of doing all that seaming is just too much. I hope you and your family have a very happy Thanksgiving!
@mandyvaughnknits7 күн бұрын
I did! I created a short intro and outro with some happy music that I liked 🙂. I am scared of the seaming too, but the designer said they have really good instructions. I have always wanted to get better at seaming, so I guess I'm jumping into the deep end 😂. I hope that you and your family have an awesome Thanksgiving as well!
