I know and love every inch of these redblock engines. These late model turbo iterations are some of the best, simplest, easiest to maintain and tune, most reliable motors ever made. I've owned seven Redblock cars over the years with a combined mileage of well over 1,000,000, and have never, ever been let down by any of them. Always got me to my destination and did 40k plus a year in exchange for just fuel, an oil and filter every 5000 miles or so and a set of plugs twice a year. I currently drive a mint 2.3 turbo petrol estate with 85k on it (identical to the one in this video, but in MUCH better condition!) And 2.4 TDIC diesel estate which is mechanically superb at 280k, but is awaiting a respray due to extensive sun damage to the lacquer over the years. Both drive beautifully. Just the best cars.

I can't understand how someone who owns one of these trusty Volvos from the late 80s and 90s can leave them to die. These era Volvos are like labrador dogs, trusty, happy and always giving back if you treat them well.

When you use it, it stays useful and beautiful. But if you leave it quiet in oblivion, it withers and dies. This is a lesson of life: don't stop loving or your heart will be a Volvo forgotten in the backyard...

Ive had an 850, 244, 240 very clean wagon with 120k miles, 245 wagon year -79 which had holset hx35 super turbo rebuild chassis with adjustable coils and 300hp. When i first drove my moms 850 wagon just when i get my licence i was instatly in love. Volvo has been allways very good to drive and so damn trustable. Maybe i get my first 740 soon. My parents had an 740 limousine when i was kid and it was awesome.

Please make us a favor and stop using that camera. Half of the video is blurred because the focus is incorrect. It destroys the pleasure of watching this great material. Personally I advice you to buy a decent smartphone, even the old Samsung S8 would be great. And just tap on the screen where you want the focus to be. Leave focusing to electronics.
@Flexiny6 жыл бұрын
This kind camera automatic focus makes stupid sounds. It has better angle and quality than smartphone.
@WespazjansDad6 жыл бұрын
Your call of course. Just wanted to underline that this lack of focus is very disruptive for the viewer. And many today's phones (including aformentioned S8) are able to record video 1080p@60fps. Don't know how about angles.

I had one of these back in the day illegally of course. Bought it from outside an auction where you just turned up, paid money and drove off lol. Had to put petrol in it though before returning home. It was a good solid car 2.0 litre engine that had abit of poke. It was so solid i used it once to ram raid Currys, it went right through the shutters bless it and we spent all night filling it with tvs etc, took us quite a few journeys. On another occasion, one of my friends had been attacked by a local gang of youths so we waited until midnight and went out in the Volvo looking for them. We saw about 10 of them hanging around where they usually did and i drove the Volvo straight at them. Build quality was so great and sturdy that after i ran over them all there wasnt even a dent at the front, Awesome! I reversed over the ones that were still moving and off we went to the petrol station as the Volvo was thirsty again. Another time a friend (saying no names) had an evil step mother, we would often talk about what we could do to help his dire situation. I turned up one day at his house as id heard on the grapevine that his step mum was taking lessons to learn how to drive. I offered to let her drive the Volvo and she was very eager to learn. I gave her the keys and waited. She drove off. What she didnt know was id emptied the brake fluid tank and the brakes would fail shortly. Ten minutes or so later we heard a mighty bang! we quickly sprinted to the accident scene and saw the Volvo on 2 wheels buried in the side of this house. Luckily it was only a bungelow. the wicked step mum had gone right through the windowscreen, right through the bungelow and out the back window, dead instantly no doubt so my friend was happy. I was quite chuffed for him. We quickly turned the Volvo over onto its wheels and god bless it the Volvo started up right away. We got it away from the scene, parked up and put Brake fluid in it. Then jobs a good un. Front end was crumpled slightly but a rubber hammer would suffice quite sufficiently on this occasion. What a car, a proper tank and i will never forget Betty the Volvo she drank petrol though i remember so was very thirsty but she made me alot of money bless her.
