The second part in the series. We look at the shelter options we carry with us and also how to build a bushcraft shelter that requires no tools or cordage to construct. A shelter that will protect you from the elements.

Aah, as mentioned in the intro vid comments I am too into the chill right now to sensibly reply but one point I'd try to share is what I was brought up to learn, and it takes a bit of thinking to 'get'... "It's not so much about being warm, it's about not being cold." Saved my life many a time over the years and once sussed, becomes second nature, like all good survival skills 👍

Bloody good and sensible video Neil. Not many people tell how long it takes to build a shelter either.

Thanks as always for sharing Neil, your videos are always good to watch. While it was obviously time consuming, I liked how simple the construction was. I'm quite up for giving that a go myself and having a night out in it. Will need to do some scouting around my local woodland for a suitable spot but we have been thinning out a lot of the Sycamore recently so we have an abundance of materials.

Thanks for the comment mate. Perhaps Des & Andy could build one too on the next little jaunt. ATB Neil

You mentioned everything except the sound of the creepy crawlies keeping you up all night, lol. Good tutorial guide and as someone else mentioned, the time it takes to make one of these.

I really enjoyed watching your excellent video and I found it very interesting and informative and look forward to seeing more fascinating video's. Where did you get the multicam poncho from and where can I buy the big parachute material bag from or did you make it yourself, if so how did you make it. Thank you in advance. All the best.

I spent a couple of hours in this shelter keeping out of the wind and rain. it is still effective, but i have one question. where was my mattress?
@greencraft47835 жыл бұрын
I was wearing it as a scarf by then!
@SirWombat5 жыл бұрын
If you’re using a bag full of leaves as mattress, why don’t you use that to measure out the footprint of your shelter? If without use your body ground measurements.
@greencraft47835 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment Sean. I figured not everyone would have the bag, so included the ground measurement.

@@TimIredale ha ha Great Minds . I have always loved the idea of a browse bag to use as a mattress but most of them are way too heavy. This one's perfect!
