What a fun video! I love planting seeds, but mine always seem to dry out and die. When I first moved to the Arizona desert I was so in love with the beautiful red yucca and the orange red bird of paradise that when I was at a store and saw they had them in the parking lot I swiped some of the seed pods. I cut soda bottles in half and inverted the top inside the bottom and put some string from the bottom to the top and made a self watering pot by filling the bottom up with water and it worked perfectly! And I didn't have to buy anything. I would love to see more videos like this, I love little crafty plant videos of things I can try to do too ✌️

I think if you would have put the clear cover on top you would have saved your humidity and your seeds and plants would have done much better. We have been growing all of our garden plants in the house for years. Starting in February with snow outside, to putting them outside in early June in Pennsylvania. Really satisfying. I do use artificial light and a heat mat.❤️✌🏻🌿🍃🌱

Same her! Starting mostly all my veggies for the garden from seeds but have yet to try houseplants from seeds. The clear cover is important for humidity for the seed in growing media to keep moist 😊 But now you know Becca De La Plant - love your videos ❤️😘

Very interesting! I had never considered starting houseplants from seed. I like this type of video where we see the "final" product of a project. I feel like we get left hanging otherwise and don't know whether or not to give something a try since we don't know if it was a success or not. This takes the guesswork out of it and I like that. Thanks for doing this and sharing!

Most of my plants came from seed, or propagations. All my vegetables I start from seed. I have fruit trees growing from seed. It's so rewarding to grow plants from seed. *The clear tray is the lid, it helps maintain moister in the top layer of soil.*

Loved the video, idea, and seed shop suggestion for @Plant Flix. I will be going straight to the site from here, so thank you for this video! I just wish more research would have been done in preparation on how to do seed starting indoors and how to use the trays. I start so many of my outside garden plants from seeds and there is definitely a learning curve. If not done correctly, many seeds will not sprout and that is no fault of the seed seller, whom often unfairly get a bad review from unexperienced growers. I made some of the same mistakes in the beginning, so I do not fault Becca at all. I am just glad to see that in the end there was some success even for a beginner.

Experimenting. Growing. Reading. Listening. All of it! And I just think it's so much fun too! Thank you for the work you did to make this video fun and educational and thanks for the link. I have had some bad luck buying seeds online. Especially since Covid-19 happened my usual seed purveyors(Baker Creek & Burpees) had closed or sold out so I had to purchase from unknowns online and I when I thought I was buying Yucca, Foxglove, and Hollyhock seeds for my outside garden they in fact sold me a bunch of different types of tomato seeds! Great video! I bought a rare plant seedlings( Alocasia Frydek and philodendron mamei) with small baby leaves (the smallest ones seem to be yellowing though I give it high humidity (about 50 to 70 per cent) under full spectrum grow lights and water when partially dry; I fertilize only a little). What is wrong with the yellowing leaves? It sprouted a few new leaves for each plant but taking a long time to grow bigger. I bought it a few months ago around September to late October. What is the care for seedlings to ensure they grow with big leaves? I did not grow them from seeds but they were sold as babies with small leaves. Thanks for any tips.

If you seed something like philodendron /anthurium etc the seeds need to be relativliy fresh for good growing success. But you can also soak them in gibberellic acid. It is a phytohormon which is needed to germinate. Also, it is easier to grow in season in my opinion. Don't now why but even if the plant germinates the juvenil plant often struggles if its not in season. Even though it is a houseplant (my experience)
