I love the bag Sandra made for you, what a sweet thing to do. I have made probably around 8 bags from ByAnnie, and I love her patterns. When you make one and give it to someone you have to be pretty special. They take a little while to make and most of the time you want to keep whatever you made.

I have done a couple of by annie bags. Mine improved with each bag. The binding is the hardest part. I do the binding like I would a quilt and handstitch the second side, but that's just me!
@dianewelch6090Күн бұрын
When I do binding I use clips. On the last row of stitching it down, I let the clips hold it in place over night, then when I sew it the fabric has relaxed and is so easy to sew the last row of stitching. I just love since doing it this way. I used to do the last row by hand, no more. Love By Annie bags/patterns.

I’m working on some donation quilts for a cancer infusion clinic that gives quilts for new cancer patients. My sister was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer January 8, 2024. The nurses at this clinic were the most supportive and caring I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately she lost her battle on November 30, 2024. But I feel it’s my way to honor her memory.

By Annie also has a great beginner series for free with videos and free patterns called By Annie basics. I’ve worked through them and it really helped making her harder bags.

I think you might need to make your fabric thread perfect before you start. I had that happen years ago. So now I pull that thread, especially for garments.
