@@silverman5691 Yes they are better built than the others. The Japanese from same years are tin cans in comparison. That's why you dont spend money on those. A Volvo 240 is also well built. But is far less refined.

you shouldn't believe that the engine after 7 years started from first turn of key. I own 500 SEC too. After the fuel pump was changed the fuel system needs pressure to be able to open the inhectors. In that case you have to built up...Then, if another parts like fuel pump relay, ignition coil and so on are ok and the fuel distributor due the long stay time isn't blocked the motor could start. But indeed it is the most beautiful S-Klasse ever!

Pretty nice this one, just needs a little love. Air flow Sensor is toast, that's why it idles so high. These SEC were dream cars in the 1980's and on their best way to become dream cars once again. I sold my 420 SEC for little money at the time, I wish I had it back....

Amazing engine.. new fuel pump.. starts and runs sweetly. These cars are probably becoming rare, everyone likes them but few people would have the time and patience and money to restore them. Proper autobahn stormer!

damn i haven't saw that Mercedes in years probably over a decade now i think it's rare nowadays, i can't wait for you to find the older S Class, it's a pain to own in Ireland as the tax is about 1,400 euros per month because it's a 3 litre.

On the website I consulted, motor tax in Ireland for a pre-2008 car with an engine of between 2901cc and 3000cc will cost €1,494 for the year or €829 for six months or €422 for three months or €149 for one month. But that is just to be allowed to use it on the road legally. All that money even if you drive only 100 kilometers a year!

Love this car. I’ve always been told to use pink coolant in my 94 E300 non diesel. Aside from having to replace head gasket on the straight 6 Which was so easy! And a radiator the car was perfect
