Im so happy to see you back! I love watching you work and I can very much relate to being so critical about my own work. You are always an inspiration and have helped me build the courage to start my own art KZbin channel! 🎨

I relate so much to you, but in writing. If it helps, the most impotant thing is to take joy in your work, everything else will come with time. It's good that you want to progress, but if you are not creating because of that you have no room to grow. I hope you will overcome this thoughts that frustrate you and flourish :) and if it helps, I wrote many scenes thanks to your pieces inspiring me!

I have missed you and your videos so much. No reason to, other than you have were one of the artists I actually first connected with and you were one the first KZbin artist that I started following seriously quite some years ago. And I absolutely love all the videos you have created. They are fun and informative and incredibly interesting and I love the way you explain what’s going on in your thought process and brain at the time you create things. This is so inspiring to me. It helps me be at peace with what’s in my own mind when I’m also creating. I think your brush set is gorgeous. Congratulations on it and I hope you sell masses of these sets. It’s a very pretty set and beautifully packaged and presented.

Always love your content! And the brushes look great! Congrats!❤🤗 I kind of recognize myself in some of these things you're describing. Personally I had to stop planning too much before starting a painting. Because I would get stuck in conceptualizing it, self doubt and indecisiveness. I would fret so much over it before even starting. And the concept always had to be so important. But finally I found that being more spontaneous and explorative really helped. Obviously the process won't look the exact same for me every time but I just had to sort of give into the old saying "trust the process". I would be so much happier and excited during the course of the painting. I'm not trying to tell you what to do or even that you are doing this, just offering some thoughts for whomever is struggling like I was. ❤

It's the eternal artists' struggle isn't it? The battle between your self doubts and the desire to create something meaningful and original. As for "having a visual style"? I'm not really sure what that means. If it means finding a style and forever more painting in that way then I'm not sure it's such a great idea. I tend to think more in terms of what is my concept (here I'm talking about an overall concept for a series of works, not each and every single work), what style will best communicate that concept and do I have the skills required in my current technical arsenal or do I need to do some more learning? Sadly, I always seem to need to do more learning. Then again, without the overreaching, beyond your current technical and conceptual skills, where would be the challenge and indeed the fun in that? You do indeed have a visual style, Myriam. I could see your work anywhere and go, "that's a Myriam Tillson". Even as an artist's work progresses and changes, there will always be something essential at the core of that work provided the work is done with a genuine desire for deep and meaningful expression , and that core is the artist herself. Good luck for the live stream and launch tomorrow. It will be midnight here in Tassie, which is hours past my bedtime, but I'll catch up in the morning.

Your style is amazing. I wish I could do surrealism but the best I can achieve is copying reference photos or real life things. I have ZERO imagination lol. I prefer insects and have many specimens to reference.

That's a wonderful thing too! However we create art in a way that makes us happy is the best way. Imagination can be trained though, I need to make a video on that actually, haha. Thank you for all your kind words :)
