I believe I understand some of these difficulties because I've been practising the attaqué and its really hard to start a note quickly without bouncing the bow when it starts away from the string. What I noticed is that I had to memorize the position just above the strings (as if I was playing in the air), so I first land the bow in that "fictional" position, and just when I land the bow on the string I relax my hand (as said in the video its holding the full weight of the bow, so its tense) to kind of rest on the string and it helps me reduce the bouncing. But its not easy!...

maybe its a good idea to practice this on 2 stings (double stop) so one learns to do it straight?

I appreciate that Julia teaches not only the technique but how to practice it on our own.

Hello Professor! In one of your hour long streams, you talked about a book on visual practice (practicing violin without its physical presence), i cannot find that section in your streams. So can you please tell me the name of the book? A good recommended book on visual practice of violin

Oh tosh!, who would be threatened by a woman holding a violin?? LOL. U want threatening, view a Hiefetz master class.......well things have changed. Another excellent tutorial. Thankyou as always Professore. Im 1 year and 10 months playing , avg 3 hrs per day using your tutelage as the basis for my practice routines. Im pleased with my progress so far. (ok i missed 5 sessions due to illness) If i miss a day practice, i can notice a slip. If I miss 2 days, my audience notices!. Ok I lifted that from a Hiefetz interview) Thankyou again. - "tar tar" as we say in the brooklyn accent. "Tah Tah" being the more proper :)
