I'm a little late finding you but I like what I've seen! Welcome to Tennessee. It's a great place to live! I,m "Born and raised" in east Tenn. I grew up running the foothills of the Smokes National Park. We grew and preserved almost all our food. Mamma and Daddy didn't have children they had farm hands. Oh how I hated it and swore I'd never have a garden! Finally at age 72 I have a garden and love it. I'm glad I know how to plant, grow and gather and how to run a tiller. I'm intrigued by your gardening style. Can't wait to try it. You probably won't see this because I came back in your videos in hopes of finding what part of the state you are in. It looks so much like East Tenn. All I've seen of Nashville is the city. I'm not stalking, just curious. I know I'm gonna love you! From what I've seen we're made from the same stuff.

That is a beautiful piece of country property. Looks similar to Kentucky to where I have been looking. There, you can get 150 acres for cheap with a house and barn close to a small town. I am 30 miles north of Atlanta at this time with the madness of growth closing in all around.

Welcome to TN! I am a Calif.native who has been in GA and TN for the last 32 years. I DO love the NW and have family there. We have a small farm for my horses, a goat, cats and dogs 100 miles east of Nashville. My horses need grazing muzzles all summer. Local hay quality can be iffy, so you may want to grow your own. Watch for horse nettle, Johnson grass, briars, foxtails or mold in it.

Welcome to central Tennessee! We live about 30 miles south of Nashville and you will love it here. If you ever do a demo at Woodcraft of Franklin, let us all know. Also, if you need hardwood, Mimms Hardwood in Nashville is a great place. And if you live a little south of Nashville, hit up any of the many Amish sawmills in Ethridge (follow the signs). Congrats on your move!

LOVE your beautiful new property Anne!!! I know you, Adam and the critters will all be very happy in the beautiful state of TN! Now you can put all the experience you've gained in Seattle to use making everything even better. There is always stuff we wish we had done differently when starting from scratch. Now you can make all those changes when you plan the layout of your new shop. I'm sure April will be an excellent person to get shop building tips from since she just went through building her gorgeous shop. It's going to be so great having your office right in the barn too! I wish you all the best!

If that Suscovich tractor is part of the 'inventory' of the barn, you already have an awesome place for your chickens to stay. These tractors are amazing for all types of chickens! Have fun exploring and creating a wonderful plan for the land surrounding you.

If it is a Meditteranean fig tree. The figs will not ripen unless it is 89F. They will fruit though if you add chicken manure, leaves and some hay. A good compost topping around the tree will keep the tree roots warm. Also tons of warm hot sunshine and best with rain or ground water not city water. Best of luck! :)

If you get time, a good night out spot for you and your husband, The Red Pony in downtown Franklin. Have a good meal and the catch a concert at the Franklin Theatre. Have fun!
