Based on the headlight and grille on the front, that looks like a mid 70s Vauxhall Viva. Great find! Completely underrated, man. Classic and solid, like the rest in this channel! Tried and true.

I had one of these HC's for about ten years .... Such a simple car to work on ..... An OHV masterpiece; stripped the engine and gearbox and so simple replacing worn parts .... Fuel pump was right alongside the engine and lots of room for working space .... Brilliant car.

In Germany we use to call these engines the "Opel Sewing machine" because of the small size, the sound it made when idling and due to the fact that Opel were making sewing machines before they started to make automobiles.

Wow,, the old Viva is in great shape for 40 yrs old ,, Vauxhalls were notorious for being rust buckets,, this model turned into a Holden Torana in Australia but with a sweet little 6 cyl ,, 138 cubic inch motor ,,

I think that a same one was my first car..a four gear and rear wheeled Opel Kadett 1200 cc ( this is the name used in my country) but with round headlights,I think mine was a 1974 first license and I bought it as a student at early 00's for about 300euros.. I loved it and didn't care if the others used modern cars ( with ac and dynamic steering) , was MY car and was happy by just driving it.. Thanks for your video

That old thing looks really quite solid for a Vauxhall of that era, especially given it's sat abandoned for so long. If it was mine I'd honestly do any structural work and get it safe/reliable to drive and leave the cosmetics the way they are, it has a great patina i think.

Lol Vauxhalls were always known for their RUST ! Such a small engine . The battery is as big 🤣 . Mind you my father used to have a 1979 Opel Kadett C Series ( sapphire special ) saloon . Full perferated leather interior and heated windows . Was an amazing car and I loved it so . Had such a distinct sound when on the move . Rust In Peace DGW 3 T 💔 One day it hit 88 mph after a Dennis Weaver style ( duel ) with a Lorry on the A 21 to Hastings . Sadly it never went Back in Time 😄

Mr Flexiny - can you please wear rubber gloves with vehicle fluids. My friend's dad died of skin cancer from years of letting petrol, brake fluid and general oily stuff run onto his hands. Most fluids in a car are carcenogenic.

Davers is right. Our skin acts as a barrier to most things, but many solvents can cross the skin barrier. Any toxins that are dissolved in the solvents are taken along for the ride, where adsorb into fat. The chemicals are then released into the blood stream over time, leading to chronic exposure.
