Demon Slayer is the perfect start anime in my opinion. It’s a simple story with easy-to-understand worldbuilding. It doesn’t have a massive overarching and complex conspiracy at its core like say One Piece. Yes, it’s trope-y but for a beginner that’s a positive. And it’s grounded by stellar character writing. It also doesn’t have any of the nudity that could be a turn-off for a lot of beginner anime viewers. Maybe only 2 scenes. And it’s gorgeously animated! Plus its length doesn’t make it feel like an impossible task.

@@aaronbourque5494 Nobody can touch the original voice actors. Tell the Japanese that our outsourced American voice actors are better, I dare you. Anybody who says foreign dubs are better than the original voice actors are smoking that good shi... Or they just can't read and have to make up an excuse to not look dumb instead of just admitting it. Foreign dubs are always worse, in every medium, from film to anime. I wish people would just admit they don't want to read and would rather sacrifice quality for convenience. I'd have way more respect for that than trying to claim it's better. No one believes that. These voices are iconic.

I agree with what you said about demons being "known" but also not so known that people are commonly prepared for them. Episode 1 does show well that people are generally living happily, but some old folks have awareness that demons do exist but it's not something that seems to be a common threat. It could be that so few people Do survive a demon attack that it's not well know by people not directly affected? I've never watched the EN dub, but whatever makes you happy. Just enjoy the ride!!

The dialogue is fairly simple so its not a problem with sub. you won't get lost. Dub is ok too.

Happy to see you jump into this great anime. You will love both the writing and the overall look of this show. It has some great pacing. While I prefer the Sub version myself, I haven't heard a lot of bad things about the Dub. One thing I would strongly recommend. Skip the first movie. They will redraw the entire movie, breaking it into episodes, and add a bit to it in the series itself. That said, sit back and enjoy the ride!

I personally way perfer the sub. Im not a like oh sub only person i watch plenty of series in the dub. But for me Demon Slayers Sub cast is just better and fits various characters more than their english dub counterparts

I agree with Dub, especially for a reaction video. For me, it would be difficult to follow along trying to watch your reaction and trying to read the dub. I think the dub actors are amazing as well. :)

There are 2 characters I like to refer to as their nicknames I gave them while reading the manga; I really like them but I think you might not like one of them because Cryhtning is just a terrible first impression and truly hard to like as a character until you reach their more serious side. Boarshonen being the other is one rude MF; so you either see it as funny or you cannot vibe easily. They are great side cast I cannot wait to see you react to. I just can never remember which episode they appear in.

The playlist for Demon Slayer is backwards!!!! Kindly could you fix that? Its such a common mistake I see with reaction channels and its so frustrating, especially when the playlists are long as hell, so if its fixed before you get further into the show, the easier it is to deal with! And it just makes your reactions easier to watch due to ease of access and allowing the playlist to keep going without having to lick the next video to watch in order

if u watch this show for the animations you will really like this. if your here for the story u will be diasponinted cuz sometime it seems written by a child with special needs. but you can judge than yourself anyway i think even a black screen will be entertaining if u react to it so i think evreyone here will enjoy these reactions

No spoiler, I think I can offer this. When you said was the Hashira superman, that statement I feel is a big deal. Perspective is big in the show. Tanjiros perspective and what he can see, react to etc. It's all through the show. I bring this up because it seems all of us kind of caught on to that late. So you seeing that Hashira move so fast it blurred was for a reason. Good catch.

I really recommend to you to switch to sub.. The humor in this show is very special and i think it gets lost in the translation and the emotions aren't as clear as they should be

I do not mind Dubs in general; what I personally draw issue with is how Lazy Dub subs are. Yes the characters speak English but don't be a bum and neglect translating text like signs and such. As to OP and ED translating in Dubs that bothers me less since they are not cannon stuff being overlooked. The Sound of the Dub is fine for me in reactions.

Sub is better, as is the cast almost every time (though sometimes dubs are really good, too. Especially big name newer franchises and classics like DBZ/ GT/ Super), but as a reactor, it's more about attention span. If you're the type to take notes or glance away regularly, stick with dub, so you'll be less likely to miss anything. But if you typically stay locked into what you're watching, or if you're already accustomed to reading subtitles, the sub is a little bit better.

The animation is so beautiful and the fights so incredibly frantic and chaotic that unless you are pretty comfortable with watching subs without getting distracted away from the action I would recommend the dub just so your attention isn't split between what's happening on-screen and reading the subs. I'll concede that the sub VA's are stronger performances but the dubs are fine with some outstanding performances and a lot of fans overstate how much better the sub voice acting really is.

How are you 'really dyslexic' and manage to watch anime is sub? I'm jealous, the only way my dyslexic brain can keep up the pace it needs to is to focus almost entirely on the subtitles and I miss everything else on screen, or try and manage both and miss half the dialogue. Wish I could watch subs but they very quickly becomes more chore then relaxing passtime. Saying that the dub for this is pretty good.

Just get good. I'm also dyslexic and I watched anime sub for 30 years. There are only 3 shows that have a dub that is better Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Pokemon.

Move to sub! The voice acting is sooo much better. But if youre severely dyslexic like you said, maybe dub is better... I really liked your reaction. I will subscribe. And the thing about demons in this anime is that theyre treated very much like a superstition. This is set in the Taisho era, where people in the cities have started becoming more scientific-minded and the provinces are slowly getting there. Of course the older folks think demons are real, but theyre usually dismissed.

Usually the sub is better then the sub. There are exceptions of course, and I am not sure why this is the case, but it is and it makes me sad.. One thing I noticed though - at least in germany - they try to increase the value of the dubs by changing the text of the original to make puns and other jokes that only work in german, and this is sooo briliant! They did this back in the 90s with Hogan's heroes (yes I am old) but they dropped it for whatever reason. Now in anime they bringing it back, and I love it!

Im not one to really care too much about sub vs dub, as long as I enjoy the show, but I will say there are some important characters in this show where the dub is just awful.
