Starting your career as a Design Manager

Transitioning to being a Design Manager can be scary for many. Starting this journey doesn't have to be as cryptic as it's made out to be.
I've spoken to so many designers who, after stepping into the role of a design manager, have decided it's not for them. In some cases that's great - becoming a design manager isn't the only way to progress in your career. But in a lot of these cases, the challenge has been that they haven't been able to figure out how to appraoch this new role.
