wait...since when are jedi not allowed to leave of their own volition? even though they help lead the clone army, they certainly had the agency to leave whenever they wished to do so

The problem was that he just assaulted a fellow Jedi. He needed to answer for that before he could even think about leaving. Also, I assume there's some kind of due process all Jedi who wish to leave the Order have to go through. Maybe it's paperwork, maybe its something as simple as giving your resignation to the Council. I think the reason Ahsoka was allowed to walk away without any fuss was because they expelled her and she turned down their offer to come back. That's just my guess.

Mace represents everything that is wrong with the Jedi, but here, he’s just an asshole. So much so that he feels out of character. Thank you, SW Audio Comics. I would not have bothered finishing the first two issues if you hadn’t greatly improved them.

@ Extremely strict. Rather arrogant. Too complacent. His Tales of the Jedi episode with Dooku is a good example. He is very by the book to the point that Dooku feels betrayed after. The Jedi has a whole have the same issue, but Mace is kind of the poster boy.
