I kinda wish they had hugged at the end. They deserve to hug after everything. But Anakin was never really a touchy feely kind of guy, so I get it. And this is very in character for him. When Ahsoka lost her entire squadron, he just put her right back out there. Not to be cruel, but to let her know he still had faith in her and her abilities. To show vs tell her that she had to move on. Obi-Wan never SHOWED Anakin things like this, he just TOLD Anakin what to do, how to feel. That type of teaching clearly didn't work.

@@afrinaut3094 The late Jedi definitely show the detachment you write of. The original mantra of the Jedi seems to simply be: "control your emotions" "let go of things that are out of your control" "be compassionate to those around you help those that need it. Maybe even those that don't." All of these things are sound pieces of advice and should be practiced on a regular bases. However, if taken to their extremes, it can lead to what we see in the Prequels with plenty of Jedi (such as Mundi and Windu). If left uncheked, controlling emotions can lead to not having any emotion at all. Letting go of things too easily can make you detached from the world (such as Luminara and Barris). And then how can you show compassion and help those around you if you do not feel emotion or don't care about anything? And not to mention the fact that in order to be a peacekeeper, you gotta be ready to fight those that seek to do harm, which can either lead down the path of hatred, the path of arrogance, or the path of desensitization. We see example of this in many Jedi: - Ki-Adi-Mundi, who was allowed to have children due to his endangered species, but was a terrible father and gave no love to his wives. Not to mention of how desensitized he was during some of the episodes. - Mace Windu with his disregard for Boba Fett's loss and feelings of revenge. Not to mention his arrogance that came from being a war hero (as well as from being a part of the Council). As well as his disregard for Ahsoka's troubles during her final arc on the 2008 Clone Wars. - The entirety of Ahsoka's trial in the 2008 Clone Wars, with them throwing her under the bus and slightest hint of malice. - Luminara immediately letting go of Barris on Geonosis without any confirmation that they were actually dead. Sure, she mentioned this to Anakin saying to him "would you do the same?" Which fair, but if it wasn't for Anakin, those two would've been dead. We also see glimpses of Jedi being what they're made for: - Yoda speaking to the clones in one of the first episodes. - The giant amount of compassion Plo Koon holds for the Wolfpack Squad throughout the entire series. - Plo Koon apologizing profusely after finding out Ahsoka was innocent. - Kenobi not wavering after Satine's death. - Kanan letting Ezra's "death wash over him as to not allow it to take control of his soul. - Ezra letting go of his parents and their deaths. - Anakin and Ahsoka having a giant amount of love for those that they help throughout the series. - Kit Fisto and Aayla Secura having a secret relationship.

@@afrinaut3094 No full attachment does not mean no emotions at all. They clearly still formed bonds between themselves as shown between Ob-Wan and Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan and Anakin (we were like brothers). Their purpose was to instill that mission/duty and allegiance to the Force and galactic order should be above all. The teaching was to love and show compassion but not be attached or try to control/possess something that can't be. I'm not justifying just explaining because you twisted it a bit. The doctrine itself isn't necessarily wrong but the fact that some took it to extremes and became so dogmatic and unflexible is. I think Lucas took principles of non-attachemnts from Buddhist and Thao teaching that also think that attachment is a root of suffering and preach to love but not grow attached/become possessive. Of course it's natural to people to grow attached and get emotional but Jedi were no ordinary people. Being consumed by emotions could be dangerous for powerful force-wielder (as shown with Anakin) - but as other person here said, suppressing emotions is also unhealthy. The original purpose was to balance emotions/attachemnts and raise above them NOT to kill them completely though. Some of them did become rather uncaring and callous but most of them were still compassionate.

It does cement even more though how much The Clone Wars got Anakin's personality wrong. Not only does he start the show (like a month after Episode 2) acting more like his Episode 3 self, he barely shows any of the insecurity of Anakin or how emotionally messy he is. I like the development of this third stage Anakin. He has the skill and ability of when he was a Jedi and the conviction and insight of when he was Vader. But what truly brings him together is the clarity and peace of mind that came about after his redemption. It took a long way around to get there, but he really is Qui Gon's student.

I think the point of this fight is to get her to be aware of her environment. She never force tosses rocks. She wasn't aware that she was being pushed towards a cliff in her fight with Skoll. She didn't think of severing the path they were fighting on in the World Between. She's an amazing technical duellist but not a strategist. That needs to change.

Hell, even now as a 26 year old, I can’t help but twirl around any and all long sticks, props, toy swords/lightsabers, cardboard paper holders as if I was Anakin Skywalker. Hayden’s skill still inspires me to this day! Truly he’s the GOAT

Honestly Disney should REALLY have Hayden be the lightsaber combat instructor for upcoming actors being put into the franchise. I had completely forgotten how flawless he makes those swings look but they hit with so much impact it gives the fight a real intense factor. This brought me back to being a kid in the theater in 2005. THIS should be & always have been the standard.

I can just imagine Hayden, being depressed for those years after the first trilogy came out and he got all that backlash, being in home all sad and grim... Then looking at a replica of his lighsaber he got from the set, sitting on the table, picking it up slowly and hesitantly, and starting to imagine being back in the studios again, with Ewan and Sir Lee, training to be the greatest jedi the galaxies have ever seen, and slowly starting to approach his Form V pose, then quickly swinging the saber around, trying to keep up with the memories of all the days of training that came up. All of it waiting for a moment to use all of that again.
