This book makes the line "you were the chosen one" have so much more meaning knowing that obi wan originally didn't believe but trained anakin nonetheless because Qui Gon asked him to. That line is when Obi Wan realizes that his master may have been wrong and anakin had truly fallen. I also love how Rael mentions how the chosen one would make the light and dark equal which is what Vader does in epiaode 3 by killing almost all the jedi

There was also one that said something a long the lines of, “When good loses its once righteous path, the galaxy’s greatest enemy will emerge once more.” I think it’s an obvious reference to Luke doing some very not so good things and Ben Solo turning to the dark side, and after that palpatine comes back from the dead.

I've been itching to watch this and the book review videos! Great job! I had to wait because I needed to finish the book first...which I finally did last night (been super busy with real life stuff). I loved the book, not Claudia's best Star Wars book, but better than most of the rest of the new Canon writers. Two things kept throwing me off and sort of brought me out of the story. 1. The story line of Obi-Wan and his LOVE of flying sort of took me out of the story...which was resolved at the end of course. 2. The other thing that threw me off was the story line of QGJ being asked to be on the Jedi Council. I loved the story line, and the difficulty it opened up with Obi Wan and them finding each other as Master and Apprentice...that was great...but it makes this conversation from TPM sort of silly: OBI-WAN : The boy will not pass the Council's tests, Master, and you know it. He is far too old. QUI-GON : Anakin will become A Jedi...I promise you. OBI-WAN : Don't defy the Council, Master..not again. QUI-GON : I will do what I must. OBI-WAN : Master, you could be sitting on the Council by now if you would just follow the code. They will not go along with you this time. QUI-GON : You still have much to learn, my young apprentice. With the book being 8 years (or so prior), they both know that QGJ would be on the Jedi Council had he just decided to be on the Council. I know its not a big deal, but, it just took me out of the story knowing this.

chris sonofpear1 form the Master and Apprentice book: Only through sacrifice of many Jedi will the Order cleanse the sin done to the nameless. The danger of the past is not past, but sleeps in an egg. When the egg cracks, it will threaten the galaxy entire. When the Force itself sickens, past and future must split and combine. A Chosen One shall come, born of no father, and through him will ultimate balance in the Force be restored.
@cgonz5 жыл бұрын
Serious question. If Dooku was training to be a Sith prior to Ep1 then how many Sith were running around the galaxy at the time? What about the rule of 2? Sidious mentioned to Maul before their duel (with Savage) on Mandalor. "Remember, the first and only reality of the Sith… there can only be two". If Sidious abandoned it, then why was it just him and Vader for 20 years after Ep3? This truly doesn't make sense dude.
@MaxwellKozen5 жыл бұрын
It may be that Dooku was studying the dark side independently. The book hints very heavily that even while he was still in the Jedi Order and training Qui-Gon, he was already dabbling in the dark side, to the extent that he even protected Qui-Gon one time by using force lightning and force choke. So it may be that he was just an already-primed easy pick for Palpatine after Maul died. Also, Sidious did also have the inquisitorius during his time with Vader - so there were at least "dark Jedi" Inquisitors roaming around, and the comics also show us that after Episode 4, Palpatine considered potentially replacing Vader, training up a number of non-Force-sensitive apprentices to possibly take over as enforcers if Vader failed to prove himself worthy.
@cgonz5 жыл бұрын
Maxwell Kozen all true. And valid reasoning. Thank you. Have you listened/read "Jedi Lost" yet? I'm looking forward to it, when I can afford it.
@Dipperbear3 жыл бұрын
I guess you never read the Jedi Apprentice series about Obiwan and Quigon. In book one of the 12, Obiwan is a month before his 13th birthday. He is VERY anxious, because if you are not chosen to be someone's padawan by the time you turn 13, you become an agricultural worker on a farm for the rest of your life. At the opening of the story, Obiwan and another padawan by the name of Burke are the only 2 younglings left at the temple who are almost at that point of being sent out to the farms. In the book, Obiwan IS sent out to the farms, but then Yoda sends Quigon there as well since something is going wrong at one, and there is where he meets Obiwan and eventually the two become Master and Padawan. So no, Obiwan being chosen as a Padawan at age 13 was NOT 'a young age' for him to be chosen. NOT AT ALL!! You should read the Jedi Apprentice series. Although they were written for kids, I still enjoyed them greatly!

3:04 NOOO! WHY? Why did lucasfilm decided to rewrite this Story. The Information, we get in legends, especially in the Darth plagueis novel, is perfect and more logically. I mean: Dooku left the order in legends at the time after Qui-Gon's Death and Darth maul's ,,death'' in Episode 1. So it's more logical, that qui gons Death convinced dooku of the mistakes als the weaknesses of the Jedi, and Mauls Death made sidious watching for a new sith apprentice. So it Sounds more logically, that he left the order at this time and not before Episode 1, because he became evil als turned to Dark side after Episode 1. Why did they Change it? The Story ja perfekt in legends. Is there als possibility, that this Part of the Text in the novel could be make to legends again and the legends Story will become Canon, so dooku leaves the order after Episode 1 als mit before. Ja in the novel really explained exactly, that there took place a real leaving of the order. I hope Not, als I hope, the audiobook dooku Jedi lost will not destroy the legends version completeley . Because i loved the legends version, because it Sounds so more logically.

@ArmorFrogEntertainment5 жыл бұрын
@@elijahwatson3474 it seems he didn't leave because he turned evil. He left for other reasons. Possibly because, like any sensible person would, he realized just how messed up the Jedi order was.
@philheier63455 жыл бұрын
@@elijahwatson3474 I know, and I didn't wanted to say that. I just mean, that it though sounds more logically, if he left the order in the time after qui gons Death and not before because the death of his former padawan apprentice convinced him at the end to leave the order, because he didn't trust in the skills of the jedi after that. Because they failed . That is why it Sounds more logically that he left the Jedi order after qui gons Death, which lead him short Time after that to the Dark side. Because of all These reasons I don't See any Sense in the idea of the authors making dooku leaving the order around 40 BBY in canon instead of 32 BBY like they did in legends.
@sleepylmguy99685 жыл бұрын
Tbf maybe it for the best. I honestly didn't get him teaming up with Sidious after Qui-Gon's death. Because here's my problem. His team up with a Sith and became a sith...because he saw his apprentice get killed by a Sith. You see the problem with that? Why in the world would you become part of the same side that killed you old apprentice/friend? Hell, I'm shocked that as soon as Sidious told him that a Sith killed Qui-Gon that Dooku didn't just try to kill Sidious or assent him. Like why not? That's what a normal person reaction would be.
@philheier63455 жыл бұрын
@@sleepylmguy9968 I know, what you mean. You mean: Why should Dooku help Sidious, when Sidious (I mean the sith generally) had killed Qui Gon, one of the few Jedi, who understood dooku perfectly? And I have asked me this question sometimes too, but it is a fact, that dooku is sidious sith apprentice, as we can see in Episode 2, 3 , Clone wars etc. That is why your Argument does not convince me to believe, that it is better or more logically, when dooku left the order before Qui- Gon's death, because finally, he becomes a Sith and sidious' apprentice. So this question, why dooku wanted to team up with sidious can be told everytime, because at the end, he became sidious apprentice. So he knew St the end, that the sith had killed qui gon, whether if he left the Jedi order before qui gons Death or after it. Because he found out, that quigon was kiled by the sith St the time, when he teamed up with the sith, and the time, where he did this, MUST be after qui gons Death, because why should sidious Search for another apprentice before Darth mauls Death (which took place at thesame Time as qui gons Death as we know ), when he already had an apprentice (maul) . Of cours, it can be, that Sidious wanted to replace maul anyway at some time or he wanted to Search another apprentice to be some Kind of a dark jedi Servant like asajj ventress als mit a real sith. But I don't think, that this Argument is goog enough, because it's quite more logically, that dooku experienced strong contact with sidious after qui gons Death. First as palpatine, so he could manipulate him. But it Sounds not logically to me, that dooku became a real Dark side User before qui gons Death. And even if you don't wanted to say that (but which I interpretate Form your words) I really think that it would be better, when dooku left the order after qui gons Death. Qui Gons Death finally concinced him to leave the order and then he wasn't surrounded by the ,,lies of the Jedi'' anymore (how palpatine would express himself) als je could be turned to Dark side through Manipulations by sidious. Your Argument, that it would be more logically when dooku left the order before qui gons Death (because why should he Team up with sidious just after the death of qui von which was caused by sidious or the sith himself/themselves? ) is not convinceable to me, because dooku became a sith at some point of Time (we don't know when exactly) but when he teamed up with sidious, he Mist habe find out, that Sidious was responsible die qui gons Death. Maye he found it out a bit later, Bit at one time, he found it ist, and then you can als your question of course. The question why dooku didn't kill sidious after he found out that the sith killed qui gon. Why did he still Team up with sidious, when he knew that? Hey still in Episode 2 and 3? This you have forgotten to include in your question. And that is a question which is still not answered yet . Of course it makes no Sense, that dooku became sidious' apprentice when he was responsible for sidious death, but this can not be made senseful or logically, when the authors decide to let dooku Fall to Dark side or leaving the order before qui gons Death (which would both be Not in my interest). I absolutely agree, that it is unlogically, that dooku teamed up with sidious because he was responsible for qui gons death, but your question has nothing to do with the problem I have with the decision to make dooku leave the order before Episode 1 and mit after it. Your question is not standing in Relation to my Statements and Arguments I noted below in the other Comments . Of course your question is a question which should be answered, but why do you think, it would be more logically or senseful, when dooku leave the order or experiences the Dark side intensively before qui gons Death. To me, this doesn't make Sense, or haven't I understood you right. To sum up I would say that there are multiple reasons and arguments that it would be more senseful and logical when dooku leave the order after qui gons Death. And of course your question deserves it to be answered. But this can be made (and it can be made better in my opinion) when the authors would introduce a Version in Canon, where dooku leave the order AND turns to Dark side after qui gons Death, after Episode 1. There are lots of possibilities , an authors could use to answer your question and to make it senseful, that dooku fell to Dark side. This can be made best by an author when it is Canon, that dooku left the order after qui gons Death. That is why i hope that the novel dooku Jedi lost don't tell us a canonizes Story where dooku leaves the order before Episode 1. I don't know why you think that it would be more senseful, that dooku left the order before qui gons Death because at the end he finds out that his best Friend was killed by the sith andyour question has to be answered so or so then.
