As for tossing my saber, I just made a practice saber with a rake handle added a set of snafu bike handgrips and drilled out the end to put in a heavy bolt inside for a counter balance. Actually looks cool and it’s cheep and can take a beating.

Basic...it is known as the “snake” to some westerners, and the “flourish” to easterners. A nifty trick to win fast in fencing if mastered well. Also, that flourish should not be done with your hand all the way behind your back, it’ll give you a quite hard time. But those extra spins and extra height gives you more flashiness, and is quite useful.

I have training in swordsmanship, and it kind of bothers me watching you hold the hilt, in the wrong end. Because in my training, you put your dominant hand toward the blade, your other hand toward the other end. When I use one handed swords I still put my hand toward the blade, unless the hilt is designed to be gripped in the middle. But never have I held a sword with one hand towards the opposite of the blade. I'm just sayin, I mean no hate. Reason why I'm watching because I am too, a star wars nerd.

Yeah for fighting that makes sense. But the saber I have here is very short and very light and you get greater spin momentum if you hold it near the end of the hilt. I would never hold it like this otherwise.
