Ezra had so many struggles against the Dark Side throughout the series. But in the end he always overcame the temptations. He pushed past his fear and anger. In some ways, he was almost the anti-Anakin; Palpatine made him practically the same offer but Ezra, instead, accepted his losses and let go, and so was able to tell Palpatine where to shove it. Ezra is a unique Jedi in a way that he kept being seduced to the dark side but always manage to pull himself back to the light with the help of his mentors and friends. What surprises me the most is how people overlooked the way Maul is taunting Ezra through the Dark Side Code ( Min 6:06 ): “ Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The force shall free me.” You can see the similarities with what Maul is saying. Maul only knew the dark side and nothing more. That is why Obi Wan pity him in his last moments.
@TheMedievalman94 жыл бұрын
I think you pretty much covered all the overtly brutal and unsettling moments. But what I found fascinating (which I didn't consciously realise until after the series finale) were all the subtle unsettling moments that showed just how close he was to the Dark Side. And they were all logical progressions, too. The first season he was constantly frustrated. Nothing serious here, right? After all, he was a young teen living in the shadow of the Empire, and finally given the opportunity to do something about it. Of _course_ he would think things were coming too slowly for him. But this frustration leads to an emotion that's the logical next step: anger. He constantly lashes out at people. Hera, Tseebo, Zeb definitely, even, or especially, Kanan. He quickly calms down (usually), but it takes the slightest of failures or provocations to get him to express that anger. He might have been able to overcome this quick route to anger (Luke had pretty much the same problem, after all) had he not had a run in with perhaps the worst possible enemy: Darth Vader. And because of that encounter, Ezra learnt for the first time what real fear was. And this fear stayed with him throughout all of the second season. Because now it wasn't just Kanan who was targetted by Vader, he was also personally targetted. Now, the Inquisitors were not just coming after Kanan and Ahsoka, but him, and they were relentless and ruthless in a way he'd never seen before, even from Imperial officials and officers. He was so scared that he actively wished he could just go back to being a street rat again, even going so far as to confess to Hondo (of all people) that his new path was scaring him. Even Yoda commented on Ezra's fear, and attempted to keep him grounded by letting Ezra know that even Yoda felt fear, which was definitely a surprise to Ezra, but he still failed to fully understand what Yoda was telling him, meaning he wasn't quite prepared for his trial at Malachor. Which meant that Maul was nearly able to successfully use his anger and his fear to fully turn him (and as an aside, I believe that Maul was genuine in his wishes to teach Ezra. I think he wanted Ezra as a student, both to make Ezra a better person and to have a powerful ally against Vader and Sidious. But that's for another time). Luckily for him, he has people around him that he feels he needs to protect, so he's able to quickly overcome that fear. This is good, right? Well, no. Because Malachor had him experience the loss of Kanan's sight, and Ahsoka. And this caused the third step on his path to the Dark Side: guilt. He wasn't strong enough to protect those two, and it was because he was too angry and afraid. So, he took the worst possible lesson from what Yoda was trying to teach him, and instead of controlling his anger and fear, he suppressed them. And this resulted in the next emotional step: a callous disregard for the lives of his enemies. Now, if someone proved to be a threat against the people he considered his family, he would show no mercy. Imperial walkers led off cliff edges, threatening Ugnaughts to get out of his way, destroying the entire power supply of Reiklam Station and letting it fall regardless of the risk to everyone else around him, letting an Imperial officer take the blame for being the new Fulcrum (resulting in his execution), and so on. It's only when he has an encounter with Obi-wan does he finally start to pull back, as he finally begins to see just what he's turning into. But this was only a start, and it isn't until he is reunited with Ahsoka again that he fully embraces everything that all his teachers were trying to tell him, and he truly begins to _be_ , not just act, a true Jedi. Through all of this, it was his closeness to his new family (and I would argue especially Sabine, but we'll have another Ezrabine convesation later) that kept him anchored enough to refrain from fully Falling. In this, he's a lot like Luke and his journey. But that darkness is still in him when the series finale happens. And being alone with Thrawn, it would be difficult to not slip back into old habits, especially since Thrawn would encourage this in order to survive and fight against the Grysk, assuming Thrawn and Ezra manage to return to Csilia. And if this is true, I'm wondering if we might be in store for a twist that we didn't see coming. Ahsoka and Sabine are searching for Thrawn in order to save Ezra from him. But what if, when they arrive, they find out that Ezra has Fallen due to the fight against the Grysk? And now, instead of fighting Thrawn, they're forced to team up with him in order to save Ezra from himself before he does something so Dark that he can no longer be redeemed.

I kinda wish it wasn't a kid show and we actually could of seen him kinda fall to the dark side or something, do a dark disciple or something. Ezra *doesn't* use both Dark and Light. He stopped using the Dark Side pretty much entirely after the beginning of Season Three, when he and Kanan healed their rift and the holocrons got destroyed. One of my favorite things in both of Filoni's shows (Clone Wars and Rebels) is his use of lighting to highlight how his characters are experiencing both their own feelings and their connection to the Force. In Clone Wars, every time a character uses the Force for an application that might be considered "Dark" -- usually Anakin, but sometimes Ahsoka -- at least some part of their face is always in shadow. It helps that the characters are all expressive, but the fact that that the animation is so details and three dimensional allows for the masterful subtly that elevates this beyond it's first look as "a kids show" In Summation, Dave Filoni should be in charge of Star Wars until he dies or doesn't want it anymore XD

Him, Leia, and Luke are a triad like the Father, Son, and Daughter because in the Mortis arc in TCW, it shows that balance needed to be restored since Palpatine's corruption altered it. It is really awesome seeing Ezra show us his strength with the force. When he controls the Fyrnock, you see the Grand Inquisitor stop and recoil a bit even before he sees the creature as if he could feel a noticeable change in the force

I think we 'could' see Ezra take the Revan's path were he will turn partly to the darkside to save the Galaxy. While he won't comeback with an armada conquer the Galaxy i can imagine him being a general/agent of Thraw Empire/Chiss army to fight the grisks or the Vong (probably made a typo error here). I don't want him to be a copy paste of Revan but an inspiration. Also imagine Ezra learning to better control his force visions to foresight the future. Now imagine him working with Thraw using this abilities so the duo can predict the unpredictable they would be unstopable in a conventionnal war.

Missed him savouring the death of the mining guild lizard, and when he used rage to throw boulders at the red suits. Ezra used many taboo emotions throughout season 4.

To be honest maul didn’t even corrupt Ezra full because he still stood with his master and it was more of a balance since like Ezra does you a little bit of the dark side but has it under control and uses his judgment

They really missed an opportunity for Ezra to unleash more Dark Side techniques showing his descent further into the dark side of the force only friend the ultimately reject it

What makes Ezra unique is his empathetic connection to the force and it really shows in his ability to connect with powerful creatures and his ease at straight up controlling others. He's also a prime example for why the Jedi shot themselves in the foot by practicing that emotions were bad. Emotions empower Ezra and allow him to connect with people and bring light. However, by locking them away and being ashamed of them he makes himself vulnerable to being consumed by his dark side. He'd do better to accept it as a part of him as well as all his emotions and learn how to properly utilize them.

I don't think Ezra will go dark, but I think Jacen Syndulla will after Hera and Cham die assuming Ezra takes him on as his apprentice. I believe we'll get a canon version of Darth Caedus that way in which Jacen/Caedus will kill Ezra in a duel (since Ezra wouldn't be able to bring himself to kill his "godson") and start the resurrection of Palpatine. Jacen's journey will be similar but in contrast to his master, Ezra's. If Ezra and Sabine get together and have a child before Ezra's death, I think he or she will be one of Luke Skywalker's students.

The last one u showed was about my favorite dark moment, but like everyone else im still waiting for sabine and ahsoka to bring him back and kick some more but
@КостяКиндалюк2 жыл бұрын
First "dark" scene is actually good. Ezra learned to make decisions himself without or/and against his master(In this case, Kanan). If Ezra didn't start a counter-attack their group would probably be stuck with stormtroopers around. That's the important thing to make your own decisions and do what you think is good. The jedi's ideology, as I understand, is all about escaping emotions, not working with them. Anakin wasn't teached how to f**king DEAL with emotions, stupid jedis were just saying him to "calm down". They just expect from human to be non-human! How stupid they can be to just cancel normal emotions because of their "negativity" instead of dealing and working with them! If you aren't teached to deal with emotions and make good decisions but just follow someone and don't have any emotions, in very stressed case you are an easy target because you didn't learn how to deal with your emotions, the only f**king thing you learned is supressing them deep in your mind...

Sadly the darkside gives its seekers the power they feel they need to protect their loved ones once they experience that power they want more feeling that they can not be strong enough and through their pursuit of that power they become gradually corrupted. The dark side doesn’t just corrupt a person at the drop of a hat it takes time to really weasle its way into ones mind and take control making them feel their pursuit of this power is for righteous intent. Although in the case of Mace Windu he knew that he had the dark side within himself and yet he was able to keep it from corrupting him because he knew to always choose the path of the light. He wasn’t constantly seeking more power he was only seeking to use what was within himself and bend it and use it against his foes and use their anger and hate against themselves. It wasn’t his power he was utilizing (it was but it wasnt) it was the power of those like Palpatine who Mace was able to use his anger and rage against him and deflect it back onto him. Sadly most other Jedi are either jot capable or lack the clarevoiance to see things that way and thus fall to the dark side. At least thats my thinking. For me I feel as if I was Ezra I would become overcome with hatred and anger against the inquisitor and my other enemies because of all the pain they caused not only to me but to every other person. I would want to call upon that Hatred and anger and use it to destroy my enemies because of all the pain they caused to existence itself but its not wanting more power, I just want the pain and death to stop. Similarly to when Revan picked up a mandalorian mask and witnessed thousands of them dying and he saw the woman who’s mask he picked ip slaughtered for trying to protect others so he dawned the mask and swore not to take it off until he had avenged the people of mandalore. Thats how I see myself if I was in Ezras shoes hut once again thats just my opinion

While the series is greatly underappreciated, I still hate the blue balls we were given by this. That moment when Ezra used the Darkside for the first time, it's obvious he was very strong in it, especially when we actually see the Grand Inquisitor actually stop and hesitate when he felt Ezra using it. I also love the detail that, whenever Ezra does something either a bit, or definitely, in the Darkside, the music changes to reflect it. Becoming dark, creepy, and like that moment with the walker, the chants of the Sith mixed with the music. His excellent use of Force Dominate already showing his potential for learning the Darkside. This could have had so much potential, with even a possibility of using Ezra to bring Starkiller, or atleast a Sith _named_ Starkiller, into canon. Have Ezra maybe go Sith for a while, pick it as his name, do the whole duel wielding, etc. See how those he loves and cherishes react to him falling. We haven't really got a Star Wars series having the MC, or one of them, fall to the Dark Side. We only have a few more moments not even lasting a full 5 minutes even. So much potential. Down the drain.

Ezra lightsaber skills were subpar but he was trained by a half-trained Jedi ... Yet his high raw force ability if he had a proper teacher is scary to think about
@lilchaos9212 Жыл бұрын
Honestly with how good Ezra got at lightsaber combat despite being trained by a half-trained Jedi is impressive on it's own. He was able to stand up against Inquisitors with decades more experience than him that were trained by Darth Vader to take on Jedi. Ezra has so much potential and raw power that if he got a proper teacher he'd be a true force to be reckoned with.

Notice also how most Mandalorians gravitate to strength and power, and most wouldve gravitated to Ezra in 3x01 than in Season 4. Whereas to see Ezra in 3x01 in such leadership and strength takes Sabine aback not because of the strength but because of the underlying nature behind it which she is able to see. However, the moments where you can see just pure love in her eyes is when Ezra came to talk to her during the darksaber training, when she sees him light up seeing a photo of his parents, when he rescued her from the nightsisters and out of total selflessness said he was counting on being possessed when she brought it up, and when he was stepping up to make the ultimate sacrifice, as well as his leadership/calculation in the final battle which was motivated by love and total selflessness once again and not conquest. Compare Ezra and padawan Ahsoka to Anakin and Kanan at their age as Padawans. With all due respect, the difference in character is night and day. "We are what they grow beyond. That is the burden of all Masters." Masters of detachment, selflessness, love even to a reasonable extent for the enemy. These qualities are what has saved the world, and both their masters, Anakin and Kanan raised them with love and acted as familial figures as opposed to say Yoda and Obi Wan, and we know how their apprentices turned out.

Part of me gets the light and dark side but when you really think about it, with the actions of the Jedi, besides deformation by the dark side like what do the Jedi really stand to lose by using the dark side Bc it seems like that’s the only downside. The things Ezra does in this video are only really bad Bc of how he goes about them, or Bc he uses something thats considered a dark side power but, all he’s doing is stuff he would just do by some other means anyways usually To add to this, the reason count dooku isn’t deformed is Bc his intentions aren’t shit so there’s literally no downside except the Jedi want to kill you just Bc you are a sith

I think Ahsoka would be a lot better teacher for Ezra. After all, she's a grey jedi and thats the best outcome for Ezra. He most definitely cant be a jedi due to his strong pull to the dark side, and turning to the dark side completely will be a bad thing for everyone involved cause a 2nd Darth Vader is bad even for Ezra.

I don't see any dark side moments in here, he just tried to escape and protected himself like a true friend/jedi. Yes, he said some things that are related to the dark side but it's not like that brutal compared to Anakin or Barriss. I really think he's just outsmarting Maul & Kanan, with the force guiding him towards creatures and him becoming stronger in each episode. I really love his character and I don't believe he'll ever be turned to the dark side, because of Kanan's lessons and Maul. His dialogues with Obi-Wan and Ahsoka also helps him.

At first, i thought he's like Luke but Ezra has an uncanny similarities to Anakin. Both are powerful,had a master whose teaching skills are questionable and signature form is 3, and they both lost their mother, etc. Actually Ezra represent a great jedi Anakin could have been if he had overcome the similar challenges Ezra faced in Star War Rebel.

I also hope that Ashoka Series will shed light on finding Ezra! I also think for some good drama be sweet if Ezra comes back a full dark-side user while remaining loyal, to his group of friends and allies. Kinda like Ashoka but, taken to the extreme edge towards almost a sith, but not quite. 🤷 Anyway, just my thoughts on Ezra's return. So regardless of his morals towards the force I am excited to see him bust out some sweet lightsaber moves bext to Ashoka, Sabine and co! 😊
