Maybe she pulled out of the dark side as the season went on but the original animated series and early clone wars she was unstoppable.

@@srduval I want to say Kristen Stewart because she seems to innately have such a tortured or heavily burdened demeanor already. Which would be in line with Asajj's traits and her story. But it seems somewhat unrealistic that she would take the role unless they made her the main character. Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, and Jennifer Lawrence would all be just as capable. But they don't have the same innate downtrodden characteristic of Stewart while being equally as unrealistic to be cast in the role. So it's hard to decide between these. But Cate Blanchett would crush it. And is my top pick if they want to go with an older depiction. Her royal-like presence and intelligence could bring something to Ventress's portrayal that most of the others couldn't as the conniving, fallen from grace, tragic figure. For the same reasons though, she might be even more suitable to play Dutchess Satine however. But overall I think Michelle Williams would be my first choice for a younger depiction or otherwise. With 2) Blanchett 3) Wood 4) Cohan 5) Cotillard - in that order if Williams turned it down. These are the best casting choices for Asajj Ventress to me because it's who would give the role the high quality performance it deserves. And who's most appropriate for the part, while still remaining realistic about who would actually play it.

Amazing character..tragic, powerful, hilarious and deadly. One of my faves. She was always surpsising with her intelligence and never did the expected as well as having true compassion for others at times while being utterly ruthless at other times. So complex! i also found it telling ( and mostly not mentioned) how powerful was Ahsoka that she fought Ventress to a standstil a number of times when Ventress killed full Jedi Knights and even Jedi Masters couldn't defeat her, yet a mere Padawan can fight to a draw. Ahsoka usually gets the "oh, she was Ani's Padawan" story but Ahsoka was probably one of the most powerful force users alive

She’s the perfect example of how the dark side could be a better side if you don’t have a master that makes you evil. After she was betrayed she just lived and used her powers as she wanted. Not for good which can be bad or for evil which could be self seen as okay

The problem is the Dark side can never be the better side. Feeding into passion, particularly hatred gives you easier and quicker access to power in an addictive form. That addiction causes you to fall further and as seen in legends (even if Disney don't conider it canon) eats away at you physically over time. The biggest flaw of the Jedi order was their arrogance and how they clung rigidly to their ways. Take Luke in legends: He doesn't supress or reject his emotions, nor does he allow himself to be ruled by them. And his connection to the force is so absolute that he is ridiculously powerful, without delving into the dark side at all.

Hell, even the ability dubbed electric judgement differs from force lightning as the user does not draw on or channel their rage or hatred. Luke even uses the ability force light, which can actively nullify dark side force powers or even strip an individual of them.

Characters are more interesting when they have a well developed story arc more so when it's a tragic redemption story. Instead of a straight up "Look at how great i am right from the off". Easily a more interesting character than anything in the sequel trilogy.

@@snakeplissken6649 yeah, that would be bullcrap of the highest degree. Users of the dark side don't return from death so much as cling to life, they're literally too angry to die. They harness their rage, hatred, and pain to sustain themselves and their bodies, though this can have adverse effects on their minds. Ventress had given up the dark side by that point, she couldn't have sustained herself that way - or rather, wouldn't. Her surviving long enough to get back to Coruscant is EXTREMELY unlikely.

Asajj Ventress is one of the most underrated characters in the Star Wars universe. Her life and relationship with the Dark Side of the Force is like that of a person with drug addiction. Only upon her "death" and betrayal at the Dooku on Boz Pity did she relinquish her connection to Dooku and the Dark Side and vanish into the unknown. Shame nothing else is known about her. Ventress's story and others are why more people need to support Star Wars Legends and the Star Wars Legends movement. So we can get a continuation of Star Wars Legends.

From a development standpoint, since the asset for Ventress' lightsaber was already made but didn't end up making an on-screen appearance, the animators probably just borrowed Ventress' lightsaber for Maul. Lot's of people have "DIED' in Star War only to rise again. I often wondered if DUKU healed her just enough and had her placed in a Kolto tank and suspended animation. He would want to draw out his revenge on her for her attacks on him, both with the Night Sisters and with Savage. Imagine if he did this right before they captured Papa Palps and the Revenge of the Sith and his beheading. She could still be there, in his lair, waiting to be revived.

The book is really good. I didn't think what had happened to master vos would happen but it did. And then of course the surprise ending.

She's one of the characters with the best arc next to Anakin/Vader. I really wish we could've seen Dark Disciple as Clone Wars episodes.

I really wish they hadn't retconned her origins from Legends. Both she and Voss were so much more unique and interesting in the old Dark Horse comics, now they're just generic copies of other characters. It was much cooler when Asajj WAS a Rattataki and she worked as a pair with my favourite bounty hunter Durge. They retconned her origins so much they even changed the Legends wiki page to state that she's a Dathomirian despite multiple sources stating that at least in Legends she was a Rattataki, hell even SWTOR made a reference to her original species by having a character who was a very Ventress-looking Rattataki who was even voiced by her voice actor. As to her becoming a bounty hunter, I don't like it, it makes her a copy of Aurra Sing as she was also a Jedi who lost her master and turned on the Jedi, later becoming a Force Sensitive bounty hunter. The 2003 Clone Wars was the best adaptation of Ventress for the screen and showed how interesting she was alongside Durge. At least they kept the story arc of Voss spying on and attempting to assassinate Dooku, one of the best stories out of the Clone Wars Era.

Well I mean we pretty much saw his story beginning to end in the Clone Wars, I guess we don't really know his early life but I'm sure it's no different from the average Zabrak.

The Quinlan Vos and Ventress story NEEDS to be animated. Dark Disciple was such a great book I only imagine what it could be like animated.
