Hey Man I get it I'm a Veteran, pushing 50 and I grew up with Luke being one of my heroes and role models for me to hold on too. It was an absolutly magical moment seeing the real Luke Skywalker we all remember and need to see more of. The optimistic, hopeful, never gives up Luke. Not that sorry sack of an imposter Ryan Johnson put Mr. Hamil into that dumpster fire of a movie. Luke is a Paragon of the light side. These emotions come from these points (myself being included for crying my eyes out and the reasoning why): 1. It's seeing our hero (the way he's meant to be) again and having some of our dreams and imaginations lived out on the screen. A person we admired so much. It was beautiful! 2. It's seeing Luke as the powerful master he's supposed to be after the events of Return of the Jedi when he has realised his full power/potential and knows what his capabilities as a Jedi and a person are. He's had the growth and fully realised arc at this point. 3. It's justice for how his character was portrayed in the Disney Sequels and how they SHOULD HAVE given the people the true nature of the character. Showing him like this. He is the most optimistic hero who never gives up or gives in to the darkness and Disney ruined him. 4. THIS IS THE LUKE SKYWALKER GEORGE LUCAS WOULD HAVE SEEN in his visualization of his storytelling. Dave Filloni is honouring George here. All these points were why so many of us were brought to tears. We relived our hero and had the proper second chance at a reintroduction to the character. Thank you, Dave and John for restoring faith back into the galaxy.

I watched, I saw, I cried and it brought me back, it was a time machine, to a time that will never be, we can now see the Luke that always was, restored that will always be our Luke. Yoda reminds us of this piece of wisdom that is so true. When we were young lads Luke was a role model, we identified with him and his desires and struggles. He taught us morality, he was selfless, he thought of others before himself, he was willing to sacrifice everything even his life to redeem someone he loved. He was a symbol of goodness, of innocence - Yoda “Through the Force, things you will see. Other places. The future, the past. Old friends long gone.” when I watched this it immediately brought my Father back to life sitting next to him in a darkened movie theater in Carpentersville Illinois in 1977 where all was right in the world, with my Dad at my side watching Star Wars, just for a brief moment it brought back that same spirit, that memory. Remember never be embarrassed to shed a tear, for we are reminded that in the shortest verse in the Bible that Jesus Wept.
@kybernetic82 жыл бұрын
This is a genuinely touching reaction to what art does to someone that truly loves said art. Star Wars is such an important piece of art for a lot of people throughout their lives, 30 somethings for the VHS OT and then the prequels, for 50+ the OT. And Star Wars Theory's reaction genuinely expresses that. If you grew up watching the younger Luke in his prime from the OT, he was a deeply impactful hero that you could look up to and reach up to and aspire to be like. He was introduced to us as a goofy naïve kid that had no discernable heroic qualities, aside from perhaps a desire for adventure and we watched him "grow" up into the Luke that we saw here in Mando season 2. The Ideal Hero. THIS is the Luke that I know and envisioned after Episode 6. A deeply calm and connected man that exudes a zen-like demeanor. No ego, no cockiness, just confidence and understanding who uses the force not to show off, not to dominate, but to guard and protect others and do good in the galaxy. The Ideal Jedi.

"safe place". I keep repeating that line in my head. Because that's on my mind all the time. How to create a safe place in my mind. I've done this with the MCU, and Tolkien: mostly Captain America (particularly after Endgame), Gandalf, Imladris, and Tom Bombadil. To say my childhood was hard is a vast understatement. I watched what I think was a less-cut version than this video shortly after this episode, one that you did. (You probably had to cut a lot of it to avoid DMCA takedown, which makes sense) I was fortunate to be born a deal earlier than you, and watched Return of the Jedi in 1983 nine times in the theaters. Luke is the man many of us aspire to be, fearless and kind. Seeing him reduced to being a scared hermit in the sequels was a blow, but this moment is what we all needed to see, our hero in all his glory!

What she said to Boba is probably one of the biggest disses he has ever received. He’s “not Just another clone” ❤️ My mouth was wide open , thought he was gonna insta-blast her 🤣 ⚰️

This is why we love you, Theory. You aren't afraid to be yourself and to show your emotions like a true Star Wars fan. Keep doing you, man! You've got the support of true fans!

Many people, regardless of what a person's circumstances are, don't understand what it means for a little boy or a little girl to have a hero. They don't have to be real, like a parent, friend, relative, etc. They can be someone who we need, who we use, as a tool and a source of courage to overcome our own challenges. Someone who we see ourselves in. Someone who saves us from that fear, that powerlessness, that inferiority we feel. Someone who instills hope. Luke was that for me, when I had all those things weighing against me. @starwarstheory, I feel and I recognize every tear on your face.

SWT's reaction to Luke's appearance was one of the most sincere, beautiful fan-moments ever. Everyone who looked at it like he was being corny is ridiculous.

Don't worry Theory - as soon as I saw that Xwing i was crying too. Probably the greatest season finale of any show, I've ever watched.

And here we are in 2024. After being along for the ride with the reaction to episode three of The Acolyte the other day, I had to come back here to see this and cry WITH Theory again, and wonder what might have been had Disney Star Wars continued with the trajectory that was mapped out in season two of the Mandalorian. Against all odds I still want to hope.

Just finished rewatching season 2 of Mando and found this video. I wish Disney Star Wars can go back to this level of quality unlike what we are seeing now with Tales of the Empire and The Acolyte. I think this was the peak, just glad to have been along for the ride for this long.

I love this reaction, I love that it meant so much to you, and I love that you got to be that kid again, if only for a few minutes. Anyone who said anything negative about your reaction says everything about them and nothing about you. Props, bro.

I'm an old-school fan. I know more about Star Wars than many content creators. I don't always agree with Theory's interpretation of certain things. But he's a fan. And the hate he gets sometimes baffles me.
