So glad I came across this gem. What a story. I felt perplexed as to the men in Leslie's life that were unable to see her perhaps as an equal. As a divine individual who had her dreams and a calling and how that should never have been attempted to have that stifled. Leslie Caron has been my lifelong crush and I consider her the most beautiful woman that has ever lived, Her charm, poise, vitality and of course her amazing talent as both an actress and a dancer place her at the top of performers in my mind. I would have loved to have been her husband, but a thoughtful, unselfish one who would have seen her drive and talent and have been a help to aid her in her pursuits. To think of her times of sadness, loneliness and unfulfillment might not have come to be if she had been with a loving, caring and nurturing partner and to think what might had been the result of that. I know life is imperfect and unpredictable, yet it saddens me deeply to think of Leslie having had extended moments of sadness/unhappiness in her life. She has given her fans so much joy and richness in her performances and now in her revelations of her career and life. A most remarkable individual, a class act, forever charming and wonderfully poised. I am happy that she is finally happy and found her home in England. France not only didn't do right by her, but lost an icon that so perfectly and eloquently spoke for it. She should have been their nation's number one treasure. France's loss is England's gain. And in truth Leslie Caron is an international treasure.

Leslie Caron, I remember being a 6 year old when I first saw An American in Paris -- you were amazing! I'll never understand why Parisiennes have failed to appreciate such a wonderful talent but thank goodness for the Brits! Madame is an honest and inspirational woman. Here's to many more years of happiness and joy.

I once fell in love with an older woman. She was 12 years older than me and I was besotted. Her name was Leslie. My parents took me to see the film ‘Daddy Long Legs’. I was age 12 and met the lovely Leslie Caron. I was starstruck. A moment ago, I was reunited with her. No not in real terms, but in this documentary. I believe she now lives in London. Maybe one day I will bump into her as I’m walking through one of our lovely parks, as I often do. If you are reading this Leslie, then maybe we could meet for a coffee sometime. I’d be delighted. ps I can’t help but watch ‘Lili’ over and over; it’s truly one of the loveliest movies ever.
