Thanks, it’s a series I use to do a long time ago on the channel and back then not many people seemed interested so I stopped it. I figured I would give it another try and this time way more people seem to enjoy it so I will try to keep it going

Me too.! I do buy a few knives on Amazon. I have several small fixed blades very handy on neck or horizontal belt.i use them when I don't want to use my premium folders .! Passed your tuff test with ease. Like D 2 .lot of knife for $30 !! .I'll take one .best on belt ,horizontal. 🤪

I've been desperately trying to find a d2, small EDC fixed blade that wasn't fake or dull out of the box. I'm in rough times right now so $ is tight (med bills are killer). You are one of the few YT hosts I trust. I am going to pick one up as soon as I'm able. Thank you so very much for the heads up on this knife. Oh n since you don't like that diamond sharpener, cut a piece of leather the same size., attach it to the top of the diamond sharpener so the leather covers the rough sharpener n it will also work as a small strop. Love your channel, respect your Honesty n integrity. Peace n comfort Friend.

For you youngsters, I'm 60 years old. Most of my life has been in the wilderness. I own this knife. I also own the 7" blade. In my many decades of bushcraft, I can say this combination is one of my favorites. For most basic small task, my neck knife is my go to. It's terrific for making "7" pin traps. Also terrific for making fish baskets. The 7" I own is for big jobs. I do have to say, after a few days of constant working with the neck knife. In the evenings while resting, I'll take a few minutes and resharpen the blade. I use actual sandpaper. I start with 1000 grit, go up to 9500 grit. Takes me about 20 minutes. Usually gets the edge to razor. Hope those who are considering purchasing this blade. Will really get one. For the price, you cannot go wrong.

I really like mine. Did a very dark acid etch because I'm pretty particular about blade blinking on my knives, but it actually took the looks to the next level. It looks much less like a budget production knife now . Highly recommend it.

I have one also I've owned it for about 2 months so far i like it. I wish I could see what yours looks like after the acid etch. By any chance do you have a video showing it before and after?

I'm fairly impressed with Holtzman gorilla knifes... I recently purchased a neck knife the smaller version that they have in D2 Steel... awesome value for the money💯... thinking about saving up a few extra bucks and getting one of their bushcrafting type of knife that around 4-5 in... but this little guy that you have here seems a little bigger than the one I got plus it has grips where's the one I got doesn't.. anyways moral the story I'll definitely be back to buy another work knife and bushcrafting knife for sure🔪😁👍

Another awesome video thank you I have the same schf57 knife And I can't stand it it won't hold an edge I don't like the hollow grind or the thin handle but I do like the size of the knife After I saw you Do your torture test and still cut paper I instantly ordered this knife I'm at the point now where I'm afraid to not watch your videos because I might miss out on something I need to have
@matthewadler13292 жыл бұрын
After having this for about a year, I have decided that they put a lot of thought into this knife. The full contoured handle is super comfortable for extended use, and it seems like they ran the D2 a bit softer for toughness and field sharpening, but it still takes and holds an edge very well. The primary is actually a very shallow hollow grind; almost indistinguishable from a flat grind. I like that they kept the stock reasonably thin, but its thicker at the edge, so I have no concerns about using a baton to split wood with it. I think this is an excellent more budget friendly answer to the Izula. The only survival neck knife I prefer is the Joker Avispa (not Esse) made in Spain. It is an incredible knife, and will go toe to toe with a Bark River or LT Wright. If you don't know of it and youre looking for a ultra compact survival knife that doubles as an EDC, you gotta check it out. Its pretty much awesome at anything a smaller knife can do.

Great looking little fixed blade. I think they might have messed up the size dimensions. The total size they have is 7 1/8" and with a 2 7/8" blade and a 3 1/8" handle, that equals 6". Also, the ESEE Izula is 6 7/8" total length and it was quite a bit bigger in the video. Not that really changes anything. It was just something I had thought about. It is really awesome the way it did in the tests and only costing $30. Great video once again Stassa! Have a great day.
@sheltermonkey60653 жыл бұрын
You mean the IZULA-II, but anyway, the Amazon questions & answers say 6 1/8".
@BrutalJuice1383 жыл бұрын
I ordered one and it was rolled on the edge. Amazon replaced it and I wore it for a camping trip. I used it maybe 10 times cutting food and cleaning fish and when I got home it was rolled over again. It’s from the sheath I believe. I think the blade hits the diamond stone.
@Stassa233 жыл бұрын
Oh damn thanks for letting me know that. I guess I got lucky then however when I first looked at that stupid diamond plate I thought to myself that’s a good way to wreck an edge. I just went try to force mine into the plate and the only way I could get it to hit it was to intentionally put the knife in crooked. I did notice that the bottom portion of the plate on mine is pulled out away from the sheath so possibly that could be why it’s not contacting it but I’ll definitely let y’all know if I start to run into the same issue or not 👌🏻
