State lawmaker gets involved after AI-generated nude photos of Issaquah students surface

Washington state lawmakers will take action after AI-generated nude photos of Issaquah High School students began circulating.
According to the Issaquah School District, the images began circulating around mid-October. Though the district reached out only to the families involved, it's something most students are aware of.
"AI doesn't make it any less real," said Audrey, a student at the school.

I am so glad I grew up in the 1970 s . Cant they get lawyers to represent these students , and say this is defamation of character ? This is done with malicious intent also . Did the student or students get kicked out for this revenge behaviour? This is bullying and it could lead to severe trauma also , and even to a student committing suicide . This needs to be stopped and whoever does it needs to know there are consequences . Very sorry to hear of this happening , and the protection of a student should be paramount here .

If it's of a child, whether it's real or AI generated, it should be a crime and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. This is exactly why new technology needs to be regulated and for their to be laws regarding it's use/misuse before it becomes mainstream in society.

Get to work Issaquah school board, this is disgusting, we’re in Issaquah school district, at a high school also. Be transparent with the parents, ALL parents. (Remember, if you see something, say something?), local and state officials time to put our taxpayer dollars to work and protect our kids… ALL kids.
