OMG. This made me cry. OUTSTANDING SHOW!!!!! Yes, this was the high glory days of GH. Luke, Laura,Scotty, bobbie, leslie, rick. Yes, they really were that popular. I'd love to get the feeling of those days back. I'd love to see ALL MY CHILDREN and ONE LIFE TO LIVE come back to daytime, instead of all of these CHAT shows attempting to tell you how to think, what to purchase, etc. Just pure entertainment, these daytime drama's were. The DAYTIME "soap operas" were what gave rise the nighttime drama's like DALLAS, (who shot JR ?), FALCON CREST, DYNASTY, etc. Nothing beats the "soaps" !

💯agree with you @JanetLevite, well said! I wish so much we had “stories” again in the afternoon….with the set up that allowed for the kind of writing and long involved scenes they had back then. The “chat shows” are garbage. I miss soaps. I watched GH first by my grandma’s side back in the 60’s, on her black & white tv. Then the late 70’s…GH was BIG then…as big as anything on night-time tv…bigger! I was obsessed like everyone. Luke & Laura❤…and everyone. Kudos to Gloria Monty….she created the beast. This episode of SOM was my favorite so far! More GH stories, Maurice…more, more, more! Please and Thank you. :)

I started watching GH shortly after Ken joined the show and have been watching ever since. They brought back so many memories of those years. Loved hearing all the behind the scenes drama. Hate that Jackie was receiving death threats. Even at 12 when I started watching the show I knew it was make believe and would never wish ill will to any of the actors because of a role. Can't wait for part 2.

This was so much fun, very spontaneous and enjoyable! I started watching in 1978, when Laura was crying and mascara running down her face as she cried, "I killed David Hamilton!" I was 16, in the hospital for tests to see why I had headaches (it turned out not to be serious) and the little tv up in the air at the foot of the hospital bed was my only escape from boredom. I saw the ad for the upcoming episode (of her crying and saying she did it) and I watched pretty much from that point on:) That bit about Genie having a photographic memory makes a lot of things fall into place, her naturalness within scenes, etc. I have somewhat of a photographic memory, but not like that!

Can't wait for part 2! Kin always gets me to laughing! Who knew Jackie has such a back story! Her life sounds like a soap opera itself! That was something about the FBI guarding them, over the death threats. That's crazy someone would do that!! Are any of those writers from the 70's and 80's around now- could they hire them back? 😉 I always love to watch GH no matter what, but I have to say the writing could be a little better these days. I also remember coming home for lunch and my hand had to hit the door knob at exactly 12 noon (the fire alarm always rang at 12 to signify the hour). Love of Life started at 12 for 15 minutes then I walked back to school. Just started watching this interview and enjoying it so much already.

I REMEMBER THE 45-MINUTE FORMAT WITH 'ONE LIFE'... BUT I HAD NO IDEA THAT G H WAS 'LIVE' DURING THAT PERIOD. SEEING KIN AND JACKIE AND GENIE STILL IS ONE OF G H's GREAT CHARMS. I LOVED THE BOBBIE/LUKE SISTER-BROTHER RELATIONSHIP AS IT REMINDED ME OF MY OWN. MAURICE... Ah best interview I've seen !! I started watching GH with my mom and grandmother as a little girl. I remember Luke's disco 😂 I have one daughter that watches . I asked my granddaughter where mom's favorite show ? She said General Hospital 🤣I said who's on General Hospital? She said Sonny and Jason 😂😂😂She was 8 at the time . Wow this is great. I remember watching GH when Jessie was head nurse and it was in black and white. It’s a well loved show.
