State Of Mind with Maurice Benard

State Of Mind with Maurice Benard

Күн бұрын

This week’s episode Dominic Zamprogna and Lisa LoCicero return to State of Mind. Sometimes when we start a conversation we can't really control where it will naturally wind up. This time I think it turned into a pretty interesting conversation about family, relationships and sex.

Yea, I can't quite explain, how incredible this conversation was. For me especially seeing both Dom & Maurice BE VERY VULNERABLE in this area & how much is related to their identity was very informing. Women can tend to feel, "we are the over thinkers, and we are the ones who have insecurities." I agree that this conversation doesn't happen!!!! AND it was done in a very sensitive way. I don't know what other platform would suit this!!!

I could listen to Lisa talk every week. She's intelligent, and to the point and genuine. And Dominic is a modern man that actually is in tune with his feelings. Maurice you remind me of my dad....still a little old fashion with the macho thing but working on becoming a better communicator and more in tune with your emotions and that it is ok to cry. Loved today's State of Mind.

The way Lisa explained about women/girls being conditioned to be "people pleasers" and how that manifests, especially when it comes to sex, was dead on accurate. And Dom getting that was so great! And your honesty Maurice regarding the subject was so helpful but I know sometimes it has to be difficult to talk about. However, your willingness to bring it out and have these conversations is so important. Because it helps to break all the stigmas surrounding it. Thank you once again for an insightful, intelligent interview. 💗

I've noticed with age I'm not as focused on people pleasing at age 65. I feel I've arrived to a healthy evolvement. It's not imperative that you like me. And that allows me to still be who I am ... A kind person with boundries. Direct feedback is a great thing. It's pure freedom.

Thank you Maurice, Dom and Lisa for this amazing 42 minutes today, such an informative and interesting conversation. As soap stars/actors you feel this pressure to be there for your vulnerable fans who might see you as their only life line. I would say to Lisa you're not their psychotherapist, doctor, support worker etc you can't save them all. Sorry to ramble on but Social Media makes us and I see it, especially with you, Laura and maybe others care what people say or are thinking. Its tough

I am 4’10” I’m Sicilian American all my kids are martial arts trained my oldest is a black belt and he and my younger son tower over me. My daughter is 4’8”. But, neither of those boys would dare speak to me disrespectfully and I’m in congested heart failure on oxygen and they wouldn’t have the ball’s. U can’t allow ur kids to disrespect u. I love that these three just let it all hang out, even with their language and be so honest. I used to be all closed up, panic and depression, house bound, self hate, from anxiety attacks from the time I was in High School and college. I'm 70 (still struggle at times), and these interviews are great and help to see new things. I wish this kind of open, honest talk was around when I had my first nervous breakdown at 17 years old freshman year of college in 1968.

Love these open conversations....please have them back. This was so good. I grew up with a mother that was bipolar. Unfortunately...she was so unhappy she would abuse me emotionally to feel her void. Of courseI have spent years trying to love who I am. Now I have a daughter that is bipolar and now a granddaughter that is showing tendencies of the illness. The more we can talk about mental illness, the more people don't feel like outcasts. And please have Dom and Lisa on monthly. The information you are putting out into the universe in so valuable. This is such a good show. I have just discovered this because of searching about Kin Shriner one day and I felt like I am getting great counseling during the pandemic. I am bipolar, morbidly obese with Parkinson’s and I am 63 years old from Oakland California. I have loved General Hospital since it started in the 1960’s watching it with my grandmother. I realize as a child I had depression, and it helps to relate to others with the same chemical imbalance. I took every medication like lithium and at least 30 others. I realize now that surrounding my self with positivity really makes the difference. I did find Jesus in 1985 with saved my life, but bipolar disease is a daily fight. I love your show 🙏🏼

Another honest and great episode. This kind of open conversation is what can make a real difference and change the way people behave, but in most spaces, people just bark at each other for saying the wrong things and no one really gets into why they do the things they do. Lisa's comments about raising ladies...yes I totally agree & understand. I have 2 daughters...I teach them to stand up for themselves as best they can. They will know self defense and self respect!!! You three are amazing. I have watched yall on GH for 9 years and realizing at 33 I do suffer from some type of anxiety and depression at times and seriously worry what others think. Knowing I'm not alone makes it better in a way if it makes sense. Thank you for the being so real and honest. I would also love love love to see you three on the regular. It's a great dynamic

Mo, Dom & Lisa you may just play family on TV, but the three of you are talking about issues that real families should be talking about. I love these candid conversations from three intelligent & sensitive people about mental illness but also issues we all face in our lives. Please keep doing them, you three! ♥️
