Think of it more like an anthology, which is what I was thinking since they said that so I’m not really surprised by this and just because it doesn’t have the boi Jin doesn’t meant it isn’t a sequel. And it wouldn’t make sense if it took place in Tsushima since they are basing this stuff off of real invasions.

Credit to Sony for giving the HZD $10 upgrade to the ppl who got it free from the Play at home initiative. That's very nice of them to do. I guess im coming out of the closet as a Horizon fan😂 Both games are beautiful but yeah the remastered HZD i didnt think we needed but looking at it im not mad one bit they decided to do it.

It wasn’t some special version of the game with conditions attached to it, it was the actual game. The full licensed game. That’s why we can upgrade it.

@@YTALPOOL Whether its PS plus monthly games or the free game deals with a new ps5 console purchase, they are as you said, the fully licensed game. We shouldn't be thanking anybody for providing remaster upgrades or PS5 upgrades (from PS4) to games that were acquired in these types of promotions; in fact we should be entitled to those upgrades. Greedfall for instance, which did not provide the PS5 enhancements to players who got the game via PS+ monthly games, only for users who "purchased" the game. Final Fantasy Remake was similar but fortunately they did change their mind and provided the PS5 enhancements to PS+ monthly "versions" of the game.

@@GammaGoblinX that’s actually what I’m saying. The Horizon Play at Home offer was literally as if you bought the game, it had no conditions attached to it whereas PS+ is a rental service. That’s why they like to put barriers in the way. In their minds they see PS+ as not owning the game. But for the 2020 free copy of Horizon they were literally saying “have the game, no catch, you own it.” That’s the difference here between PS+ ‘copies’ and the Play at Home giveaways and the Astro’s Playroom PS5 free copy. We OWN those games, we don’t own the PS+ games in our library. It’s really not that hard a concept to understand it’s it’s quite clear how Sony see it. They quite clearly differentiate between games you’ve given them cash for and games they’re letting you play for ‘free’ on PS+. Whether we agree with that or not, or argue the fact we pay for PS+ therefore we paid for the game in our own minds is irrelevant, Sony don’t see it that way. Cash = we own it, PS+ = we don’t own it and Sony won’t always let us have the cheap upgrade routes etc.

I never start watching these with high expectations, but this show pleasantly surprised me. Lunar, Legacy of Kain, Fantasian and Ghost of Yotei. Some of the other games looked interesting. I'm sure the Monster Hunter fans are happy. Overall, I am satisfied with what I saw.

I prefer remasters for old games that deserve it. A game like horizon doesn't need a remaster because it's fully playable on modern hardware. Bloodborne doesn't need a remaster but it would benefit from a port to pc and an improved framerate and resolution.

Horizon is still one of the best looking games on the market...it is absolutely unnecessary The major problem people have with this stuff is that there are legitimate games they could/should remake! Like resistance for example. There are sooooo many games locked to PS3 and would be awesome remaster/remake candidates...but instead we get tlou and horizon 7 times...

Some people in the internet are rage baiting like crazy. This has to be one of the highest interactions with my future gaming. I will take that Zero Dawn platinum and revisit the game (wouldn’t have if it was full price, or whatever the dumb guys at Sony did with Spiderman 1 PS5). Astro and Stellar blade dlc are additions that I already have. Ghost of Tsushima sequel finally gave us something to look forward to on AAA 1st party. Hitman VR will be my peak out of the VR offering games (I believe they showed 3 this SOP). I really can’t complain here. Specially when October is SH2 R and DBZ Tenkaichi.

It was a good event. It wasn't a god tier one, but I also don't expect these types of events/showcases (like E3 2016) from Sony anymore. The last State Of Play (the Astro one) had already raised the quality a bit and this one maintained it, so if it continues like this, I have nothing to complain about. This State Of Play was good for confirming some things that people have been discussing for months: - Showcases (at least in name) are probably dead. - Sony really prefers to announce their games now when they are within a year or so of being released. If they did it with a tenpole IP like Ghost, they will do it with the next Naughty Dog, Santa Monica, Bend games.

Horizon Zero Dawn Remaster and Lego Horizon by far my highlights. This’ll be the first and only Lego game I ever play too. I simply can’t get enough of the series, it’s a masterpiece. Like most, I own the Play at Home digital copy from 2020 so delighted by the fact I can upgrade for sub £10. (I disagreed with Mystic on that one, it’s the full game with no subscription paywall behind it so you were always gonna be able to upgrade it. It wasn’t marked as a trial, a timed copy or a PS+ copy etc, claiming the game was exactly the same as if you bought it with cash, that’s why it was such a good gesture at the time)

Honestly. The year of people saying "Wow. Where are the games" was fucking agonizing lmao. They said in February. "Expect nothing major because we won't have anything until April 2025 (March 31st 2025, but same difference)". Also. RE8 appearing in the PS5 Pro sizzle reel is great, because that's a game that 100% benefits from that extra horsepower. This is something highlight by Digital Foundry years ago when they brought up the replicable frame drops during the Salvatore section of the game.

I have no doubt in my mind that the new Ghost game is gonna be good, but I am still extremely disappointed. I wanted a sequel to Tushima with Jin :(

Pretty decent selection for PSVR2 - excited about Metro. I don't ever go into these expected something amazing since most stuff leaks beforehand anyways. The retro games were a nice treat - definite pickups.

Ghost of Yotei was the standout but The Midnight Walk and Hell is Us actually look quite promising too. The Legacy of Kain remasters look super lazy IMO.

I wish the LEGO Skywalker Saga was designed in the same way as LEGO Horizon. Horizon looks more traditional while Skywalker Saga was a very uninspired, boring, empty open world game.

It is funny all these positive comments about 2024 games that looks like PS1 games but released to next-gen console. Not to mention, Sony = remastered games. WoW "State of Remastered" looked awesome.
