They need is a computer program rather then ticket book, thus the computer would handle their ticket times, AND timesheets, logging them out if they're car isn't moving, they don't use the computer for so long, OR they're at home. Of course the computer ONLY runs if the vehicle is ON, but they're NOT logged out IF they're currently at the police station. OR registered by dispatch as at a call, as they already must call in. This way they'd know their exact location already, length of contact, and nearest unoccupied officer. Any cop which has too much time where they're NOT patrolling aka driving or not using their computer (to insure they're working NOT driving around doing other things) or going to the SAME locations to routinely, locations where no tickets are being written would be flagged for review which MUST be completed as it'd also check to make sure the data was actually reviewed including a map of their locations, tickets they wrote and dashcam/bodycams. If they aren't actively looking at the data (not idle, must scroll through and take enough time for the length of the document) then that person would be flagged for review by the next guy on the food chain namely the DA or chief.

I'd also add a speedometer check to insure they aren't driving around like maniacs as that's both illegal AND the number one way cops end up DEAD or harming innocent civilians.

They already have GPS locators tracking them built into every patrol car to let dispatch always know where they are At least they should have that like other cop cars got long ago Dispatch should've always known where they were You'd think they had to have known what was going on..... There really is no excuse for these cops to get away with faking work hours for THAT amount of time resulting in crazy overtime pay....it should've been caught long ago! 🤓
