Hello Sir. Great learning from you.. Please throw some light on few points. 1. You said while explaining static stabilization that muscles are inactive in anatomical position as to conserve energy. No electrical activity in them. But how this is possible, muscles are always having an inherent tone and a certain level of electrical activity is going all the time. 2. In loaded scenario say 10 kg in static arm position, you said only supraspinatus is active, again this should not be the case. Supraspinatus size and mass suggest its not for managing loads, in that scenario, majorly trapezius will come into play, along with many other muscles. Your views please. Thank you.

thank you...seems u have a great knowledge in. this. May I know what u doing, before answering?

@@shailkumarjain of course you can or you can contact me via instagram or even via my website: www.biomechanicsworld.com
@TonysTutorial4 жыл бұрын
1.The inherent tone in the muscle that you are referring do exist but its not something that you we can measure all muscles are electrically silent and don't show any activity until an action potential arrives or they are triggered.The inherent tone of a muscle is not due to the active tension generated in it but due to passive and non contractile elements. 2.We speak not in general but our discussion was specific with shoulder complex. And the statement about supraspinatus is correct during static state and is clinically evident too, of course trapezius and many other muscles can contribute when we consider body as a functional chain but when we consider the stabilisation role in shoulder its just the muscles around shoulder and in particular supraspinatus is considered. And role of supraspinatus and notion of static stabilzation by it is supported by clinical findings of shoulder subluxation evident in stroke patients at rest or when no work is done.The functional position of supraspinatus as well as its greater contribution to the shoulder stabilization via compression by the Fy component of muscle states its role and significance of its weakness( dynamic stablization video explains the concept) good luck good ideas great thoughts
@TonysTutorial4 жыл бұрын
Even then we cannot understate role played by serrates anterior, trapezius or any muscle surrounding shoudler. Our aim is to make this less complicated for understanding of students...more studies are needed to either rule out or support any further notions....Trapezius and Serratus anterior work synergistically to provide upward rotation of scapulae, upper trapezius and levator scapulae supports against downward rotation etc. But above said activity is what that happens in shoulder complex,but when shoulder joint (refers to only glenohumeral joint) stabilisation is only function of supraspinatus in STATIC state. The conceptualisation stands different for shoulder complex and glenohumeral joint

What is incongruent joint? Sir
@TonysTutorial4 жыл бұрын
Incongruency means theres no proper atriculation between bones that forms the joint. For instance in GH joint the head of humerus is large as compared to the glenoid fossa. That means only a portion of head can atriculate wth fosss. If fossa was large to accomadte head then it would have been a congruent joint

Sir, what is subluxation?
@TonysTutorial4 жыл бұрын
Subluxation is the partial dislocation of a joint. Thts the joint has not completely disclocated and got into out of place but still its not in normal position too
