anytime you can get a car that clean and original owner for less than a grand... its a deal and provides a great blank canvas! Look forward to it's journey!

Thank you! It definitely needs love but that’s what will make this fun. It doesn’t have to be perfect :)

You can reduce the clacking by adjusting the valves. Not hard to do. Also you should find out when the timing belt was last done. I sure would not trust it after 12 years of sitting. Again not too hard to do. We picked up an 87 325e for my son for only $1400. Similar story. Car sat for 6 years and just needed some love to get it running great for not much investment.

Yeah I was planning on a valve adjustment when we do the valve cover gasket. Easy go do on these with a feeler gauge. Timing belt is a must but we will most likely overhaul the entire cooling system with it as well with some aftermarket silicone hose kit from Ireland Engineering. Anything to be leaky free and keep it running cool :)

better idea. restore it to stock (visually) but change things like brakes, suspension, tires, etc..
@StaticGarageUSA3 ай бұрын
What’s the fun in that haha! Honestly, if it was a rare spec and didn’t need all the work it does, that would have been a nice option. But it would actually be cheaper to keep it not 100% perfect and actually use it!

With the rust and it not running I think it would’ve been a 2-3K car but in certain areas would sell for $4000!
