Stationeers How to get started on the Moon

Today we are looking at what you need to get done to survive on the Moon. This is just a getting started video so we are only looking at what needs to be done to satisfy your survival needs without going into any automation. The survival steps here are similer to Mars but without the atmosphere to harvest gasses another source must be created.

Are you planning on revisiting this episode with the phase change/ latent heat issues which are now far more of a problem on the moon? Anything not insulated outside gets very cold and pipes start bursting…

I’m glad they fixed the drinkable water temp issue. I always had a good laugh when you pointed out you’re drinking boiling water on Venus XD. Thank you very much for the video, Mick. I was supposed to nap before work today but I watched this instead. If I may ask, what are you planning for the next video? Any plans to get back to the IC tutorial series? Also, are you on discord or anything like that where I could humbly submit video ideas to you?

They also fixed the no heat damage bug too. So no more opening the helmet in the 100C room to drink the boiling water. Not sure what the next video will be. I will have to wait for the next patch before getting started on any of the hot planets. Possibly some airlock science or different methods for fueling the furnace. I have covered what I wanted for the IC10 so there will not be any more unless I think of something I have missed. I have posted a message on the channel where you can make suggestions if you like.

I am happy they are addressing some of the off bugs in the game like pipe length affecting pump/regulator performance etc. Those issues turned me off the game for the last couple months.

I was worried that the pipe length bug was a deep core mechanic that might not fixed. It sounds like they are getting serious about 1.0.

That sounds like it is still calculating based on the pipe length. It should be the volume of the pump chamber, a fixed value.

@@cowsareevil7514 The maximum they can pump is a fixed value, but it will adjust itself based on the pipe volume up to that limit.

Vacuum cooling got removed (fixed) on the beta branch ( pre watch comment if you mentioned it ).

@@ConnorArchibald nothing so realistic, there is heat transfer but its basic and designed specifically for the gameplay. Certain objects are insulated and do not transfer thermal energy while others do. So in a sense, kind of.

I cannot like this video as you make the same mistake that a lot of tutorial video creators make which is to overestimate the knowledge of the viewer. So this is not a video for those new to the game. "Lets just lay down some frames." No explanation given as to why you laid them out the way you laid them out. "Right, now the power is up." Great, again, you gave no explanation as to how or why you laid out the power. You just jumped from laying out the frames to the power being laid out. I think it is time for me to give up. This game uses a lot of concepts that are much more complicated than in other games and I am finding that experienced players simply have no patience or desire to help new players get their heads around how things work. I think I missed the boat with this game.

This game does have a steep learning curve for beginners and I have skipped over the detailed explanation that I have covered in other videos in an effort to keep it under 5 hours. If you want a detailed explanation of each system then you should watch the video covering that system.

@@cowsareevil7514 Fair enough, I'll try and check out your other videos. I am struggling to find beginner videos that are not out of date. The problem is that they change the way the game works but the video tutorials for systems that now work differently are all still there.
