You are right about the Purge and Pressurant valves being effected by Pressure differences. Moving the pollution gas would have been a lot faster if the gas was pumped before the Pressurant valve. Pushing 3Mpa into a 5Mpa pipe is an act of frustration I never fully tested how the Condensation valve acts though, it doesn't seem to be effected by the amount of liquid in the target pipe, nor the pressure (I think, thankfully).

I think If I drained the pipe right after the purge valve it would have functioned better. I think I did that with the NOS tank to help speed it up because that took almost an hour. As far as the condensation valve is concerned, I think it also looks at available liquid storage space... I forgot to pump out water on the final stage and almost exploded my gas pipes because of it though I may have observed that wrong. But its normal behaviour seems weird to me, like it might let a certain amount drain and extra condensation valves help to speed up the drain. Trying to keep the gas pipes from getting 100% stressed was a unique challenge to this setup.

Two major rules of physics EVERY engineer MUST know, high pressure always travels to low pressure, and, higher temps always travels to lower temps.

Fighting against these rules is a lesson in self frustration. We need some kind of variant volume pumps that work similarly for the purge and pressurant valves. Engineered solutions help but attempting this highlighted how slow this process is when you dont account for it.

Perfect topic - thank you for looking into distillation! Thinking about making use of liquids and their properties on Mars....

Awesome, I hope it helps provide some kind of groundwork. Admittedly I tried to approach this from the angle of separating liquids by evaporating them consequtively until only a certain kind remained. This may need some finetuning, the overall speed of this is very very slow. I tried to minimize power drain only to see what would be possible but hopefully it can be expanded and improved upon.

Im loving the new phase change .... Changes

Had to add a few "liquid drain" valves to a few tanks, etc

Honestly this all looks like a huge unreliable PITA. isnt it?

Agreed, not the best design but something i kind of came up with in an attempt to see one way to separate liquids without just pushing them through a filtration loop that may not like how much liquids there are
