Yes, This was very cool. I took my son to Ellis island once years ago it was a moving experience. Glad to see the ice cream at the end. Your videos must have food! haha

We didn't have time to go ashore on Ellis Island but will do next time. You're right that we have a lot of food in many of our videos 🙂. Our son needed a "recharge" and the ice cream did the trick, lol. Thanks for leaving a comment!

That sounds like a pretty good estimate because after the self-guided tour you might want to look around, and there's a museum as well. Have a great time!

It doesn't hurt to call and ask them, but it'd be really risky to show up and try to upgrade that way because sometimes the pedestal tickets are sold out weeks in advance.

Sure- you probably want to get there earlier than the time on your ticket as it takes a while to get to where they can scan. One hour before would be safer.

It depends on how long you want to stay on Ellis Island and of course Liberty Island. We planned and spent about 4 hours to include the Statue of Liberty visit to the pedestal, but that felt too short. 5 or 6 hours would be better IMO.
