Goddamnit, why wasn't this band ever more popular in the US? If you all could indulge me for a minute... I first heard of Status Quo back in '82. My highschool friend and I were at a record store and they were selling 8-tracks for $1 each. One of those crappy tapes was "Status Quo Live '77." My friend said, "I've heard of this band" so we bought it. Best... fucking... live... album we'd ever heard. Ever since, I've been a Quo fan. So fucking sad they never made it big in the States. Such a great band!

I was a little kid in Mexico. I bought a cassette with this concert but it didnt sound that good, then later i bought another one, just a little better, then another one, etc. one day i found someone was selling this in betamax and I bought it but I didnt have where to play it until i found a friend that could play it for me. I was obsessed with finding a recording with good sound, I found something decent on tape and I would rock on it. So many years later I could finally see them live in Frankfurt, great sounds and they right in front of me. I just love them. Rick, keep rocking in heaven, I will join you soon.

Back in 1984 my father was the head groundsman for Milton Keynes Development Corporation. Which meant that I got back stage passes to all the concerts at the bowl. This was one of the great ones. In 1986 I spent the summer holidays in the US and missed another classic concert (Queen) but I am truly glad that I was there for this one.

I was at this gig with my wife - an all day affair. Quo fans were a great bunch of people to be around - the whole party atmosphere. Everyone jumping up and down and singing away. What surprises me now looking back at this is just how much fun the band were having up on stage! They were having as much fun as we all were. A truly memorable night, wonderful performance and atmosphere all about having fun. A privilege to be there and a huge thank you to my late wife who got the tickets for my birthday. Thanks to all the members of Quo and the fans too.

I live in Mexico and for some reason Status Quo is loved in a suburb of Mexico City called Neza where I grew up. Back in the day i bought copies and copies of this concert in different formats, beta, VHS, audio, I would find a bad audio copy and then one that was better ande like that 20 times. It was so incredibly nice to get a copy of the audio that sounded good. I would get it on tape, here we didnt even know who was rossi, parfitt or lancaster, but we surely loved Status Quo

ALAN CHARLES LANCASTER otherwise known as NUFF, has passed away in Sydney, his home for 45 years. The founding member and the backbone of STATUS QUO had been suffering from Multiple Sclerosis for many years. Alan battled on bravely, performing at QUO's Reunion gigs in 2013 and 2014. Even though he had MS, Alan's performance and his vocals were the strongest of the three. My favourite member of QUO is Alan Lancaster. I had the pleasure of having a beer and a smoke with Alan at a Sydney pub gig, in Five Dock, when he had The Lancaster Bombers and The Lancaster/Brewster Bands in the late 80's. We had a longer chat at The Lewisham Hotel as well. These were dirty, grungy hotels, though this didn't phase the great man of the people. Alan was the most beautifil man, very humble, down to earth and a great guy to talk with and have a laugh. Vale Alan ( Nuff ) Lancaster RIP mate, you were one of the greatest Rockers of all time.

"Status Quo double live" on my Hifi Equipment in the 70th - every day during school homeworks - before and after - full power. The others were: Ted Nugent double live and Thin Lizzy double live. Till today for having a good day. There was a lot of very good music. I recognized a quality cut in 1978. I believe for the music managers, money became more important than quality. After this cut, a pretty look became more important than ability.

The aura, the smell, the sound, the light, all irreplaceable by technical facilities. Those who were there and went nuts, kept moving continuously after the concert...they will tell their children and advise them to keep their smartphone in the pocket or at home. And enjoy everything with all your senses. Silly hope however.... Anyway, Status Quo was/is one of the icons of Rock. They still fill- when again possible- any space on earth!

Alan Lancaster sir,you will always be a legend! I couldn’t give a damn about what went on between you all during those drug fuelled days. Without you,we would have had no Quo! One of the finest bands we will ever see. Watching the old songs now with a smile and also a tear in my eye. Rest in peace little man,you did bloody good!

Completely agree about Mr. Alan Lancaster, replace him in Quo, not the greatest move. He was more than just a great bass player and singer. He was a little bit of everything, the sound of Status Quo, was much due to him. R.I. P. Mr. Alan Lancaster.

I met Rossi a couple of times, his Nan lived just a couple of doors along Sandy's Road in Basingstoke from an old mate. Had some good natters with him, tight bastard never did give me any free concert tickets though. :)

Well, I was never a huge Quo fan til I saw them in Newport, Wales that year. When you see them live you're buzzin or days, VERY addictive. Iţ's the riffts.
