I was only 9 years old when I first heard about the Titanic. I grew up obsessed with "Titanic: Adventure out of time". Today I'm 35 and when I see these realistic graphics and these animations, I'm happy like a little child. You won't believe the joy you bring me with Titanic H&G. I can't wait, I can't even wait for the demo 401 v1.4.3!

As James said "A little surprise inside" Just before it faded in, I said "No, surely not the Engine room." And sure enough, as the camera faded in, and I saw the tops of the cylinders, I literally cried out "YES!!!" and nearly fell off my chair. Then, as I saw movement, my jaw dropped. I cannot wait to explore this space in detail.

Exactly. I'm working a Roblox ship project. I'm modeling the entire ship in Blender and exporting the models one by one. I've had to redesign the deck plans for everything below C Deck because I didn't take some account into things and I just wanna make it better overall. The entire floor plans are built from scratch with me coming up with every plan. Once that's done I'll start working on the steel structure and then the piping and other stuff to make it realistic.

@@Kni0002 That could work but the problem is that I'm a perfectionist and I have to get as many things physically accurate as possible. For example I obsess over the steel beams in the ship, how big the boiler exhaust pipes should be, The layout of the rooms inside, and all those little things.

I love how you fly up and out the glass roof that was actually there. So few know that there was a direct path down to the engine room which is clear to see on various schematics.

If you need me, I will be in the Engine Room...probably for several years. When I was a Queen Mary tour guide, that was my favorite place to be! This project is a tall mountain to climb...but it has led us all to a wonderful place where we are all beginning to see it. Thank you for the time, effort, and dedication into this project. We appreciate your ambition and very eagerly await the release of subsequent demos and alpha (museum ship, real-time sinking game, etc). To be able to explore every corner, room, hall, and space of the ship is something that I think exceeded the wildest dreams of many enthusiasts of shipwrecks. You are really building a time machine. Who would have thought: Here's Titanic's photorealistic anchor room as accurate as possible, 110 years after it died. This has been a Titanic production, just as much time and effort (albeit virtual) as the real ship. No other video simulation of the Titanic will ever be as precise and lavishly detailed as this. Fabulous!

All I have to say is...wow...a thousand times! Been having my fingers crossed to see the engineering spaces, so I got very excited when I saw the first hint of the cylinder heads and valve chests, as I recognized them immediately. To see the rods and eccentrics going round was just icing on the cake. One little thing you might get round to as the space gets fully fleshed out is the gauges need a little animation on them too. As the pistons cycle up and down, the steam pressure fluctuates as it's admitted and exhausted, so the needles on the cylinder gauges wobble up and down ever so slightly in time with the beat of the engine. The big main steam line gauge from the boilers would probably be the only one that stays rock steady most of the time, unless the black gang up forward starts slacking off. Even then it tends to go up and down a teeny tiny bit due to minute fluctuations in the steam lines, and as load comes on and off the engines. A little sheen of oil on the moving parts like the con rod bearings and valve eccentrics, and the odd drip of water or light puff of steam from the piston rods are other little things I would add further on in the build. Hopefully one day the space can be made interactive, love to have a go on the telegraphs and run the engines.

I did not expect to see the engine room. Til near the completion of the entire ship. The animations, the detailing required for that area. Is Kyle a mad man. Casalena's music was perfect. Beautiful revealing music. Than when the camera swings over to the white wall. It hits you, that's the area we see of the stern section under water. All the people who stayed down there, to the ships final moments.

I think there had been renderings and models of the engines for a while now it was a matter of getting the actual room modeled and i assume all that hull work helped alot

I have fond memories of playing Adventure Out of Time as a kid and being blown away by having the ability to walk the decks of Titanic in virtual form. One of my very few disappointments with that game was that nothing in the reciprocating engine room was animated; they just played sound effects of the engines working. This got even more disappointing when I had the opportunity to see a real triple-expansion steam engine at work on the John W. Brown and witnessed the amazing amount of moving parts on these engines rotating in concert to make it go. So, I have an amazing amount of respect and gratitude for the people at THG for finally bringing that space to life on a free demo. You guys have done it again!

Because of you guys we are able to see the Titanic totally realistic. The closest to how it probably was. It's like a treasure. A documentary of the most famous ship in the world. Those episodes were a true gem Mr.Penca. Thanks for the efforts. THG as a team is really evolving into something unique like the mighty vessel they are trying to recreate. I am very and most interested in mechanical and structural parts of the ship so plating and double bottom Patreon updates are breathtaking. Can't wait to see more of the below the water line ship's spaces like shaft tunnels and turbine room with the condensers etc. and please make the double bottom tanks explorable in the future. Lovely. No more mottled white texture on walls. And I'm dewy-eyed seeing the engine room for the first time (and so soon after being treated to the new crew spaces). I don't know much about optimization but I hope the First Class Lounge won't affect nearby decks by the time 1.5 comes out. It would be sad to have a whole new crop of THG detractors with the greater exposure on Steam. Best foot forward, eh.

Two good ideas for the game: 1.) after the iceberg collision, the player gets the option to convince the captain to use collision mats. These are used on military ships to stop leaks and, in an emergency, mattresses can be used that are lowered to the ship's side with a rope attached. 2.) The player gets the option to close all open portholes as well as to close the opened D-deck door. By doing so, the player delays the flooding of the ship and the sinking is prolonged - perhaps long enough for the ship to remain afloat long enough for the Carpathia to arrive. Then the player helps to ferry the passengers with one of the boats. In my opinion THAT would be the most exciting game, the most meaningful from a human point of view. That would be what I would have tried myself on that fateful night.
