For the person wanting to help their friend with the trash sitch. Depending on where they live they should maybe convince their friend to save up a little and hire an independent moving company that’s staffed by artist and musician weirdos. As a person who’s been on said type of team several times in the past it’s interesting how fast we were able to remove all the incredible amounts of trash from the persons house but it would have definitely not worked out as well without a crew of empathetic people who were willing to work with the emotional reactions that people tend to have in this situation. There’s a particular rhythm to it that is important to help the person accept the transition. It’s very important to stop when they need you to and not be judgemental while still being able to politely insist that you finish the job. Most importantly you have to be prepared to be there for them at the end of the process because the reality shift is always so intense for them that it doesn’t ever feel very kind to just bounce on them . Honestly it should just be a specific job but as a person who’s done it several times I can only recommend hiring whatever cutty under the table artist/musician(comedian?) staffed moving company that’s willing to deal. Also it would be nice to explain the situation beforehand when u hire them. Personally I got a heads up two out of the 8 times.
