the former Red Lion Inn in Cromwell that abruptly closed last year recently sold for $2.55 million, records show. The three-story hotel was built in 1968 and renovated in 2005. It has 263,000 square feet and 215 rooms. it closed down due to back logged taxes and black mold and other repairs needed. the hotel is located in CT this was filmed awhile ago [ 1 year ago ] as it now got bought for 2.55 million dollars. it's now being renovated and worked on as a new place!

Josh you guys seriously need some respirators or N-95 masks for places with extensive black mold like that. It's very toxic to your lungs and body and can cause pulmonary infections and disease and sinus infections and damage. Also if you continue to go to places with mold like that it can put you at a predisposition to certain cancers. Just want the best for y'all and to stay healthy while exploring ☺️✌🏽💕

The Red Lion Inn, previously a Radisson and before that a Crowne Plaza, was home to the Fur Fright and Furpocalypse conventions for many years up until October 2019 prior to the hotel's shutdown. I was at and staffed that convention. The hotel had some charm to it, unfortunately it was falling apart before its closure and as a result the place already looks like it had been abandoned for many, many years even though it was only closed for 9 months as of this video. The Sunday afternoon of the convention, a rainstorm blew through and anywhere directly under a roof sprung so many leaks. With the state of the building even at the time of this video, between the mold and scrappers that came though, there was no way in hell this place was going to be salvageable. Word I've heard is that they'll knock the place down and put condos up.

Hey Josh, this video ticks me off. Not for anything that you have done, but for what the owners of the hotel haven't done. With all of that stuff left over in there, why not sell it, or donate it to Goodwill or to homeless shelters? That is just a waste! 😠 Ok, now that we have established that this is the Red Lion Hotel Cromwell and that this is an older video and that you should be wearing a mask around all that mold (from all of the comments), let's get a few facts straight. This information is from an article in The Middletown Press by Cassandra Day, posted on 1-10-22. A Hartford developer is looking to build a multi-use facility at the 31,500-square-foot former Red Lion hotel on 100 Berlin Rd, which was shuttered a year ago for unpaid taxes. The private endeavor, to be called The Lord Cromwell, named after the original occupant of the property, is expected to contain 2 restaurants, one of which will be a high-end, "white-tablecloth" eatery, homes, dog park, retail businesses, walking trail and more. A formal application has yet to be received, Planning and Development Director Stuart Popper said. The state Department of Revenue Services terminated The Red Lion's sales and use tax permit last January for nonpayment of taxes, which resulted in the layoffs of 50 employees. (Such a crappy thing to do.) Lexington Partners of Hartford outlined a rough plan for the land owned by 100 Berlin Road LLC at the Dec. 7 town council meeting. The proposal calls for a mixed-use building with 24 townhouses, condos, 260 rental units, 12,000 square feet of space reserved for amenities, such as a pool; retail and 542 parking spaces. Owner Martin J. Kenney said during the meeting that everything has been demolished except the garage. (Google maps still shows the hotel is there and not demolished). Well there you go, just a little expounded information. Stay safe and be wise. 😇

Hey! Amazing video as always. Just wanted to tell you that on the letter that was on the door at the top there is a name. If you search up on Google with the words "hotel abandoned" you can find the hotels name. Just telling you because you said you wouldn't like the name to be exposed

Explore Letchworth Village while you are over here! The history behind it is intriguing and ghost adventures did an episode there. It is about an hour and a half away

Kept getting weird vibes of how familiar that looked until I saw the sign that said Cromwell. I spent a couple weeks there a few years ago.

It seems like the roof was completely worn out and needed to be redone considering it is leaking everywhere.

Sounds gross but all them sodas are just fine just wash the outside of the bottle. My grandad had a coke from the 90s that was in his garage for years n he cracked it open and it was still fresh

Bro, I need one of those huge beds!! My husband takes up a lot of space in his sleep (he’s a starfisher). We don’t get beds that big in the UK!! I have a king size and compared to those beds, it looks like a dang single 😂 Anyways, this place is pretty awesome! I love how preserves it is and how it’s not damaged like most abandoned places. By far the coolest hotel I’ve seen in a while 👏🏼🔥

At 2606 those are pictures of the hotel as examples of what and how the rooms should look when cleaned. No one knew about the tax issue until the day the building was closed. It was open one day and closed the next.

Omg I live in that town with that hotel. Someone bought it and is going to be tearing the whole thing down eventually to put apartments and shops. So much freaking nostalgia from this place it’s crazy.

I am from town, I have been to so many birthday parties in this hotel back in early 2000's and my sister even had her sweet 16 in one of the ballrooms back in 2007! We would also go to that back parking garage as teenagers
