No joke: about two days ago, I was reading about Japanese whiskey, and thought, "There should be an AbroadInJapan video where he visits a bunch of distilleries and tries the whiskeys. I will suggest that in the comments of his next video." Imagine how unimpressive my idea sounds now.

It's whiskey for everywhere but Scotland. It's Scotch whisky, and some companies market their own spirits as "whisky" because they believe their product is similar to Scotch whisky, but American bourbon, for example, is also whiskey with an E usually. So is Canadian whiskey, South African grain whiskey, and so on. When I said "I was reading about Japanese whiskey" in my original comment, the book I was reading explained the whisky/whiskey spelling differences in great detail. And just think: I thought I'd never get a chance to use that knowledge! Wahey!

NOTIFICATION SQUAD: Which alcoholic beverage wins out of WHISKY, CIDER, NIHONSHU or BEER?! (My vote goes to Cider). Also, I realise we drank lots of whisky and alcohol in this video. I'd have liked to have had "Japanese whisky" somewhere in the title of the video; but the KZbin algorithm would decimate the video - hence the hot spring title! ALSO AGAIN, don't listen to Ryotaro's blasphemy! The t-shirts are great! (T-SHIRTS: goo.gl/DRsqwF)

I did a video of this same trip at the beginning of January!! When we went to Nikka, this old man was stealing extra tastings and got so sloshed. The winery was so random too but when we went, we met a European guy who was friends with the winery owners so he told us all about the history. Such a good trip. Hey I am from India. I recently stumbled upon your channel while I was randomly searching about Japan about a week ago and I saw your vedio *Day in my life in Japan* and since then I have watched over 50-60 vedios of yours and I really enjoyed them all. I have always had a soft corner for Japan in my heart your channel has only increased that fondness in me. I don't know whether I will ever be able to visit Japan or not but through your vedios I already feel a part of it. Your are doing a great job. 👍

I have to say Chris, you make one of the most entertaining travel videos on Japan out there! But more importantly they are very informative and detailed! I hope to make similar kind of content about my local area; which is relatively unknown in my country, let alone the world!

I don't mean to objectify, but beyond the amazing quality of the videos and the amount I've learned Chris is very handsome and funny. So is Ryotoro. I really like you two as a duo, it's funny, charming, and educational. Thanks for another great video!

I don't normally comment on KZbin videos; however, I wanted you to know that I absolutely love this channel. You've inspired me to want to go to Japan, and learn their culture. I'm currently trying to learn Japanese so when I do go I can communicate with people. Thank you for these amazing videos!

It brings me happiness to see you haven't changed or lowered the quality of your videos Keep it up Even though I'm Mexican and only been to the USA You're my only real way of seeing Japan with an English (and open minded) point of view (said that because people in Mexico are a bit too fucking ignorant at least in the small towns where people don't believe or want anything else aside from drug addicts and dickriding narcotic leader lifestyle lol) Anyway thanks again and take care
