As a (former) housekeeper, that room is designed to be cleaned so easily!!! I love it it's actually probably really clean because of the design of everything. And yes, hardwood is definitely more hygienic than carpet. Edit-- the colours make it look like a really intense psych ward lmao

Honestly some of the best budget hotels look like either an intense psych ward or was decorated by an intense psych ward escapee. Maybe its because I like a intresting vibe, maybe its because I am a 3 time psych ward escapee myself so it feels like home who knows.

I've had bed bugs 3 times and they are a NIGHTMARE!!!! Literally couldn't sleep at night because my whole body was so itchy. Had to wash my clothes probably a dozen times but it wasn't enough to get rid of them, I ended up having to completely throw away my mattress and couch and quarantine my clothes in an airtight bag so that they will die. It's serious shit like PLEASE check the bed when you check into a shitty room I beg of you, I don't wish bed bugs upon anybody. Lucas didn't check the bed right - you will find the spots in the corners of the bed. They can also be on other furniture so check the corners of those too. STAY SAFE OUT THERE GUYS

I’ve always heard about bedbugs in movies and tv shows. But I’ve never heard about it in my country. It sounds like a terrible torture. But we got huge mosquitos at some places. Anyway, you turn the AC on and they’re gone.

For future reference: do a bed bug check BEFORE you lay on the bed and don’t put your bags on the bed until after you check. Check under the sheet in the seams of the mattress

Motel 6 is fabulous. One time when I was staying there at 3 am I heard screaming outside my door and this guy was like “PUT THE GUN DOWN!” And someone else was like “I called the cops!!!” And there were some intense noises (I was too frightened to even open the curtains) and my freaking partner was trying to go outside and have a look and I was like GET IN HERE I WILL NOT LET YOU DIE. Anywhoo, no one got hurt and the cops came and chilled everyone out. But it definitely got my heart racing. But I still loved my experience at Motel 6 hahahah

In 2003 my girlfriend and I arrived to our Motel 6 and there was no shower curtain so the housekeeper replaced it. I showered and washed my hair and laid on the bed with h my wet hair on a towel. After a while, my gf said, what’s that red stuff? I sat up and my towel was seeping a brownish red liquid and was through the sheets where my wet hair was and when we pulled back the sheets there was a HUGE stain that looked like a recent crime scene! We called the front desk and then a ton of cops showed up! They offered us to just change rooms but we left since we were so freaked out! I think I rewatched my hair like 10 times that night because I felt like it could be someone that had a bang bang to the head and maybe was wrapped in the missing shower curtain!

many of them arent bad at all. if you just need a room and thats it, theyre almost exactly like these guys' room, and its the other guests and the "ambiance" of the property that makes it creepy... so far the creepiest motel 6 ive stayed at was in Catoosa OK. the parking lot was crawling with random people, the lobby had at least 2 people trying to convince the manager that their friend is staying in the hotel and they just want to wait in the lobby, and i shared the elevator to my floor with a woman (disheveled and strung out looking) that had a kid and toddler with her and the toddler reeked of a full diaper. like they say, the people make the party!

When I was little I would pack a whole bag of Trinkets and decorations. Anytime we would go to the beach or anywhere on vacation and I would decorate my room (or my nightstand if I didn’t have my own room) luckily I grew out of that 😂🤦🏻‍♀️

yeah these guys stayed at one of the nicer ones. the ones where u exit ur room right to the exterior walkway tend to be the sketchy ones. the creepiest and dirtiest one i ever stayed at looked like the one these guys stayed at and id thought oh it cant be one of those trashy one, the check-in window is not walk-up, theres an interior lobby, and an elevator! cut to me navigating people "waiting for their friend" in the lobby and sharing the elevator to my floor with a woman that had 2 kids in tow and one or both kids reeked of sh*t. so...... 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅

That Motel 6 is actually really nice compared to the one I stayed at. The one I stayed at was fine & all, & clean, but just very stark & white & had those awful printed polyester bead spreads & matching curtains that had a very 70s vibe. This was about 15 yrs ago, so maybe they've made more of an attempt at decor, or maybe they vary regionally.

they might have improved since then. tip: if its true motel style where ur room opens to the open walkway, good luck girl! if its the kind like the boys stayed in where u enter ur room thru an interior hallway, those tend to be nicer. also: theyre popular with dog owners because they never charge extra for a pet, which also explains the wood floors.

Hotels are mostly indoors and have more facilities and services available to guests (breakfast, pool, gym, etc) and are generally for long term stays. Motels are made for 1 or 2 night stays, have rooms that you just walk up to from your vehicle, and are cheaper.

omg better than i could have put it! top tier summary for anyone wondering "whats the difference between hotel and motel?" isnt the "mo" also supposed to refer to "motor lodge" ie what you described where u park in front of your room? i have that in my head because a nice hotel near where i grew up was both: it was both a ~grand~ old hotel (fireplace in the lobby, steakhouse and lounge on property) but also had a basic 20-unit motel on the property right next to the nice place. im also reminded that this model was also used by vegas strip hotels back in the day. my first time visiting vegas with family in 1997 we stayed at the Stardust (RIP) and i was surprised that they too appeared to have motel style accomodations in the back.
