Yellowstone National Park is always my favorite. Love the different colored sulfur water puddles. Plus there's the Old Faithful geyser and inside one of the gift shop they have a homemade ice cream shop. I have yet to visit other national parks but that's always the first one that pops into my mind.

Awesome pickup on the National Park annual pass. I HIGHLY recommend if yoy are going to visit a lot of National Parks, pick-up a "Passport to your National parks" book available at any National Parks giftshop. There's a place inside the book where you can get a passport stamp for every National Park you visit along with the date you visited. Plus the book shows you what all Parks are available in all the states. It's been a lot of fun collection "Cancellations" as they are referred to by the Parks. Enjoy!

I think the “large crows” you saw were maybe ravens, which is super cool! Ravens always do funny things when I see them and they are fun to watch. For your park pass, you’ll quickly make up what you spent if you see more parks in the west. For whatever reason .. fewer parks maybe.. you just don’t need one in the eastern US as much. But in the west, man oh man, the parks are everywhere. I would list my favorites, but I love them all! If you go to Olympic National Park you’ll drive through Forks, Washington which has some fun hoky references to Twilight - and the area is stunning.

That national park pass was so perfect when my husband and I honeymooned in Utah years ago. Highly recommend Zion if you can make it there. Also Mesa Verde and black canyon of the Gunnison in Colorado! Sand dunes are great too, but the best time to go in late may is also the busiest time, car line to get in is usually a mile long. Shenandoah in Virginia during the fall is amazing, plus they have blackberry everything! Had a really good salad with blackberry vinegarette at their restaurant. Eager to see you visit more national parks now, I think they work for national battlefields too.

The welcome sign is no longer at the feet of the Indian, but at least the Kachina statue is still standing. Playground Of Dreams is an iffy park that has seen better days. Please read the reviews before going there, especially with children. "Paso Por Aqui" sculpture, whose name translates as "pass through here," quickly became an informal symbol of Gallup. The "Galoop", as the locals call it, was a 1 Percent For the Arts state-funded project created by artists Charles Mallery and Robert Hymer. Two quarter-scale sculptures, one of which is installed in Santa Fe, were fabricated by Eidson Steel Products, Inc.in Albuquerque to test the NC-generated cutouts that were used to create the piece. The design was modeled in 3D using FormZ, which exported the patterns to the metal cutting machine. At the base, the metal is about 4 wide and an inch thick, but becomes thinner as the loop spirals down to about 6. There's nowhere to park, so be careful snapping a photo.

Welcome to the south. Lol Weather bouncing around like that is common down here. Especially during spring and fall but sometimes during winter months too. Its funny many states make the crazy weather claim and I lived in Milwaukee form few decades and Texas for a,few more and between the two... Well, Milwaukee is right off the Great Lake Michigan but central Texas has it beat by a mile! Oh, and I dont know why but overall the humidity during the summers are THE SAME (even with Lake Michigan right there) so,I dont want to hear that "but its a dry heat in Texas" because, nope. Anyone wants to argue I have 30 yrs of experience in EACH STATE.... so unless you have more.... nope. Just to throw in I LOBE the people from Texas that want to explain how they know better about Wisconsin than I do because "They were THERE for 2 weeks, or 2 months or even 2 yrs..' it happened even more in WI (referring to Texas). I asked one guy that was arguing with me about the weather in Texas and I asked how long he was there and HE PROUDLY proclaimed he had Driven long haul straight acrost it (I know, it's how they speak down here...) and was there a total of about 3 days and 2 nights! so he "OBVIOUSLY knew what he was talking about!" I laughed pretty hard as I just walked away.... he kept insisting " What's so funny" and "what's the joke" so it took everything I had not to respond with one word to both questions.... "you" Could you open the old Studebaker to get inside? THAT would be the photo ok I would, want. From the, side,,from the, front and from qn angle. Make it look like,I was, driving imagine on blocks.. Maybe even photoshop, some moving tires on the, fender wells. Lol
