Seralago before the pandemic (2018-19) was a decent cheap bed with no bedbugs and Disney surplus furnished. The worst thing I remember was a family of raccoons in the ice machine outside. It was $25 a night then, if it's $17 now the quality must have taken a more serious dive.
@Tom-sg4iv42 минут бұрын
$17 seems reasonable, but not with the addition of a resort fee. US consumer rights are just garbage compared with Europe. Prices on search engines should be the total price including all taxes and fees, so all offers are directly comparable.

Wow, my family stayed here back in 2011 and it was a super nice budget hotel. My wife and I stayed there again back in 2014 and it was still a great option for those on a budget. So sad to see that it's gone downhill like this. We had a great time the couple of times we stayed there.

I live just over 20 minutes away from Disney and my wife and I go every week. My wife is quite the Disney princess. She’s talked about wanting to stay at a location near the park sometime just for the fun of it. I’ve always thought that that is a silly idea but now that I see this, maybe I was wrong.
@StevenMJohnson3422 сағат бұрын
I used to live near there. I always wondered what was inside.
@Daybreaq10 сағат бұрын
Actually, the scariest thing was the front door. It looked like anyone could break in. Also, I wouldn’t go near the hot tubs on that property even if they looked clean … remember the couple (the man died) in Mexico that got electrocuted by one in a resort hotel? It’s probably the reason they are locked up. It looks like a “The Florida Project” hotel.
@mattmccarthy409Сағат бұрын
I used to stay there pretty regularly for the Mecum Auto Auction - last time back in 2018. It was nowhere near that bad. If I head back that way, I will definitely go elsewhere.

I used to work for Holiday inn in the 90s. That hotel was beautiful in the 70s and 80s. It even had a restaurant with a separate ginger bread house where the kids could eat. It was called Holiday inn Main gate east. The last time I stayed there was 1994 and it was still nice. So sad new places can't take care of things. How ever, if you do stay off property, I recommend a chain. They at least have corporate standards.

@KingBaconMonger5 сағат бұрын
Thank you for confirming that this used to be Holiday Inn Main Gate East. I stayed there with my kids around 1998-1999 and it was AWESOME! They had bunk beds set up in a fort-like area of our room and some sort of clown show - with clowns who were actually hilarious - and a food court. It was amazing. I've been in that area many times since then, but wasn't sure what had become of the property.

Anyone local knows the area and knows why it would be $17 a night. All those reviews are from moronic tourist. Also, as someone that's owned a hotel I'll tell you hotels are largely as bad as the locals around them. People want to blame hotels always for being bad.. or the staff. In the end, every hotel starts with super nice stuff. It's the people that ruin it. Sure, there are some major issues with cleaning at this place.. because you couldn't possibly clean it in time. Those rooms need a good 3-5 hours cleaning for each one. Not something a hotel could ever staff and do.

If it's $17+$69 in resort fees, it's not the cheapest hotel in the area. There are plenty of hotels in the area around Walt Disney World with clean rooms that actually have the amenities that Seralago promises for $86 a night or less.

Absolutely not correct that every hotel has resort fees.Also booking using hotwire or priceline is definitely the best option,when I wasn't local I used to come here 10-15 times a year and booking rooms between $32-$50 was normal and easy,since I did it so often I knew what were the good hotels you could find for those low prices,I did stay at Seralago once and made sure it was only once,it was cheap with no redeeming qualities,at least back when I stayed in those cheap hotels there were a good amount of hotels that were clean,in a safe enough area and even had free breakfast.
