this might sound really weird but I noticed it when you where walking for your bus, there are straps to tighten above your shoulder which keeps the wieght close to your back so it feel less heavy and there is less pressure but yeah. love you Holly!!!
@lauraw.71084 жыл бұрын
I also noticed that and I wanted to tighten the straps so bad... 😂
@iskandaryia9874 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It would be much easier for her 😁
@sarahannkathrin32044 жыл бұрын
Yes I noticed that too. Just tighten the straps near your shoulder and it should hurt less because more of the weight will be on your hips.

Giving an itinerary to your parents/next of kin is a good idea. Just so they know who or where to phone if they haven’t heard from you in awhile and want to check you’re okay. It’s a safety net as it were.

For the bag: Ideally, most of the weight will be distributed over your hips, not the shoulders. If you haven’t done it in a while, loosen up all of the straps and readjust the fit. Fit it snuggly on your hips/crest of your hip bone, the clip around 1 minute looked like it was riding high. Once your shoulder straps are on, that chest strap can not only be tightened, but will slide up and down on the straps themselves and is there to make sure the shoulder straps stay put, not to hold much weight, ideally it will keep them on and not crush your breasts or let the straps slip off. When the shoulder straps are pulled in, there are two straps up by your ears (you can see them behind you at around 4min) they are load lifters/shifters, use them pull the bag forward and over your center of gravity. Of course you may have packed/picked up too much, but that is really subjective, I’ve gone on trips with “too much” because the items improved my experience. If it is too much of a burden, consider mailing things home, or to your final destination to pick up before you leave. Otherwise, looking great!
@HollyGabrielle4 жыл бұрын
thanks so much for the advice!
@kaatie794 жыл бұрын
I think for this trip you should chalk it down to experience having overpacked a bit. Next time you could consider a 35l backpack and use compression packing cubes and wash your clothes more and pack less for sunny climates. I managed 6 months in Europe doing this.

The straps on the bag at the top you can see at 03:16 should be much tighter than that so the weight of the back is closer to you and not pulling backwards!! 😊 pull those two tighter and it’ll feel sooo much lighter! That’s the good thing about packs like that is there’s so many adjuster straps and hip/chest belts to distribute the weight

I stayed in this hostel when going to Fraser Island with a friend a few summers ago! I definitely agree that it’s not the most safe feeling hostel and was very busy and quite rowdy! Again like you neither of us drink so can be strange when everyone around you is drinking!

Don’t feel guilty about all the bags - the classic look is a backpack, day bag, bum bag and a tote bag filled with god knows what hahahaha. Also enjoy Fraser it’s one of my all time fave places!!!

Please talk about how you travel to places where the toilets are not in very optimal conditions like when you go on long bus journeys or like when you don't stay in hostels, how do you manage in those situations. I'm always anxious about situations like that as I'm prone to getting UTIs after using common toilets while travelling >:( Idk if anyone else can relate but it's a struggle.

I have travelled places with my friend, like Berlin, New York, London.. But I don't think I would have the courage to go alone like you are doing! My biggest fear is my cards not working; without money you can't do anything and all of my cards have been denied before :c I love hostels! It is cozy having people walking around. The biggest room I've stayed in is a 24-beds mixed dorm. The 2 scariest things I encountered during travelling were: 1. In London at about 9 pm. My friend and I had just gotten off the tube and walking back to our hostel when we saw a group of about 10 men. We wanted to pass by them but this one guy blocked the way and stood in front of me attempting (pretending?) to kiss me. Luckily, I could just go around and they didn't bother any longer or follow us. 2. The catcalling in Minneapolis, MN. I felt so unsafe, so many people were saying stuff to us, asking vulgar questions and even kinda following us into a subway.

Just get a Suitcase/Luggage trolley you can drag along behind you,much easier and you can carry more without bearing all the weight you do backpacking it makes no sense and your Black hat is dehydrating you absorbing that intense sunlight and heat making the effort even more intense
