Another handy video thank you :) I very often carry a Uzi tactical pen with a monkey fist for defense and a pocket of loose coins for distraction or a dazzling torch which has a ridged crown on the lens. Good work keep these vids coming

I bought a Tuff Writer pen a year ago and carry it daily; however, this series has been invaluable in showing what to do with it. BTW, it writes great too.

2:36 If you think, you can block a crowbar like this, you will be in a world of pain, my friend.
@jasonrudolph4913 жыл бұрын
I believe the concept is to deflect the crowbar by deflection the forearm- not blocking it. There is a difference. It can be done with practice and obviously it would be only in a situation where there aren’t any other viable options. The alternative- (in this case) is to just stand there and get your skull crushed. 😎

Thank you for sharing such wisdom and knowledge with us Michael. May I suggest that one can also purchase Filipino Pocket Sticks made out of solid steel online. They are legal to carry and you can even use them as a key chain. Oss Oss!

@stay safe media one of them things I have seen repeatedly in terms of stabbing type events is that the attacker uses what's called in leveraging arm grabbing clothing or hair or whatever they can get ahold of with their non-dominant hand to hold you in place while they drive the knife into whatever part they can. Tell me how your techniques encompass the leveraging arm please?

Thanks for 5hd video. Dry helpful. I have a tactical pen from relefree. It has a sharp ( glass breaker ) edge on the top. I cannot put my thumb onto the top of the pen because of this. Do you think this will affect how effective it is?
@PeterJames143 Жыл бұрын
I'm with you til the guy is mounted on you. looks realistic. i can tell you trained some grappling. but if a guy is mounted on you it means first of all he's probably better at grappling than you and despite your having a tactical pen he still has an advantage on you. if you get one strike with that pen before he starts to hurt you youre lucky. If someone skilled is mounted on you you're unlikely to get a chance to use that tactical pen. Maybe you get two hits in if you're lucky. Then he's pissed off and either he's going to rip your arm straight out of your shoulder or rain punches on you til you go to sleep. I can tell you guys train though, that is nice to see. I bought a tactical pen to face multiple attackers, and so far your advice is the only plausible methodology for using it. I'd rather use my hands, and to some extent having a tactical pen is just an impediment to doing that. Not to mention I have to learn a whole new skill and I am already strained for time to learn bjj. But once two guys came at me and I'd like to be able to face that situation with a plausible likelihood of winning. Another time a guy robbed me at gunpoint and I don't see the pen helping me in that situation obviously, and I am not thrilled to have to learn about shooting or concealed carry anyway. Not to mention obviously there are limits to that.

You don’t emphasize pure execution much at all. Practice may make perfect, but insisting that your pupils focus on pure action is a must. Forget making an opening, it’s whatever damage you’re capable off putting out and how quickly you can. Pay lip service to “dynamic” defense all you want, but if you only do these slow demonstrations nobody’s going to learn such. Attackers aren’t coming from the front. Attackers aren’t easily manipulable. Attackers ARE stronger than you. Attackers ARE faster than you. Attackers ARE bigger than you. Nothing beats simple, fast damage. Judging from your physique, you should know.

I'm sorry to disagree with Michael. His timing for these deflections is superb, and very few can match that. We do not have 20 years to train daily to get to that level, so the technique fails for the majority.

I like the main focus of the video, but please tell me that a gun is not part of your EDC.... You had your finger on the trigger when you pulled it out then aimed it AT YOUR PARTNER!! 1:50 Hopefully you were at least smart enough to unload it before filming, but that does not make up for the fact that you aimed a gun at another human being with your finger ON THE TRIGGER!! There's no excuse that can justify that and every responsible gun owner will agree with me. And what's worse is you then have your finger correctly outside of the trigger guard at 1:55. So you have no problem aiming it at someone, but you'll use safety when it's pointed at you. If you're irresponsible enough to do that in a video, I don't think you should be carrying a gun in public.

+Tanner Milius I didn't see any indication of it (blue gun, orange tip, etc) but seeing as to how everything else was a training weapon I kinda assumed it was a training weapon as well. I can't possibly see him being so ignorant as to actually point a gun at his partner

Training weapon, most likely. We have plenty of guns at our school with the firing pins removed etc.

What if someone really attacks you and you don't know what he is doing? I guess you better run and throw your pen away. ;)
@carlosnn81503 жыл бұрын
in the end you have a stick in your hand. jam it in eye or throat or groin or knuckles or sternum or whatever, then either keep hammering and/or run as needed. keep it simple, it won't be a mma combos and locks fest. can't hammer too much either, because pen might slip as the force needed to hold it increases as you punch. dual wield may help sometimes heh, but in the end it is a stick. or like you say, just run period, if you don't know how or cannot truly fight back even more aggressively than attacker; which is extra hard if attacker has better weapon too. edit: found a more realistic video kzbin.info/www/bejne/bqG0maR5drihbqc

merica, fuck yeah! i'am from german and also living in berlin (for trump fanboys -> berlin is also in germany^^) - what i wanna say is, your tutorials are good, but as a german citizen who also live in germany, i am not allowed to run with a gun tru the streets, neither i am able to purchase a gun legally without a special licence, but also with a licence to own a gun, it is only for sports or hunting not for self defence or kill indians ;) . gun owners have to transport their sport/hunting rifles in a special metalcase, without the ammonition. both have to carry seperately in a sealed case only on the way to the shooting or hunting range. war rifles are totally banned for civillians. i like our restrictive gunlaws - we haven't de facto no gun violence or gang-shootings etc.
