This channel is so fucking good and underrated. Every topic you cover is interesting, thought provoking and most importantly relevant; so useful for my studies. What I'm trying to say is that I'll watch your content till the day I die.

Man, I love Max Joseph (and creators like him). Then I found you. You ain't Max Joseph, you are someone who clearly understood what made his videos so captivating--namely depth of their thinking, as you mentioned--and have come into your own. I believe creators like you, Max Joseph, Jacob Geller, Dami Lee, Beau Miles, Vsauce, Veritasium, and so many others that I love who all have their unique style that can reach new depths other mediums cannot provide, are in a way **this generation's philosophers**. But they aren't just thinkers, but doers and innovators too. I believe Socrates would be proud.

Everyone you mentioned has had a huge impact on my taste, the last video I watched was Beau's newest upload! Haven't heard of Dami Lee, excited to check them out. I have a long way to go before I understand story like Joseph or reach the quality of ideas like Vsauce, but i really appreciate the exceedingly thoughtful comment. Thank you for watching

WOW I saw the thumbnail and video titled and immediately clicked. Watched an absolute banger, and I thought this was probably a this video must hit 800k views at least. Turn out to see couple hundred subscribers!!? WHAT!!? You’re so underrated and youtube algorithm are just insane, with the editing, the information you provided, pacing and art in her, your content is really good. I’m so glad I found your channel. Immediately subscribe, I don’t usually commented on KZbin vdo, but I just want to drop a kind message and encourage talented creators like you!! I understand that creative work can be daunting sometimes. So I just want to drop this message to let you know that there’s a viewer like me who appreciate your videos, Hope you reach to your goals soon❤and now Imma go binging all of your videos!

Where did you pull your ability to storytell from? I find, even though I'm able to write decently, the ability to resonate with more than a few people in narratives is greatly diminished. Where did you start (aside from Max Joseph)? Top notch work, by the way.
@MaxwellNichols
@MaxwellNichols Жыл бұрын
Not sure I'm credible enough to give advice on this, but where I start (and based on what you think youre missing) is sincere self awareness. I find if you can candidly distill what motivates you, it is typically true for plenty of others. Journaling would be practical application, can be w/prompts. Can't be true for everyone, but thats also how you'd find your audience fit. Im also listeng to the book "hero with a thousand faces" right now. History is always a great place to start and im always reading or listening to something. Sorry if that's not very helpful, but really appreciate the compliment!

I have newly discovered this channel and watched all your videos in a short time. I think you are making good progress by leaving out the way too elaborate editing of the video. I also think your videos should be carried by the concepts and not the visuals in the video itself. However, I don't think it's necessary for you to speak directly to the audience, as that tends to draw one out, so I'd just prefer a style that's similar to the video on modern architecture, just less fast-pace and fewer effects. Because the topic has been brought up more than once now; I don't think you should think in terms of 'overrated' or 'underrated'. The reason the channel hasn't exploded yet is simply because there's a lack of consistency. If there was a video every week or every two weeks, there would be a much higher chance that people would stay tuned or that there would be a second video, like the one about modern architecture, which would also go viral. I also think that the title of your viral video is ingeniously chosen, after all, I landed on your channel. The other topics were also interesting, but the most interesting video was definitely the viral one. I think to replicate that success, you'd need to find more topics that generate that kind of interest. So that your video titles/thumbnails are questions on interesting and quirky topics that spark interest, where the potential viewer thinks: "Mmh, I haven't thought about that yet...". For instance: 'Why our newest decade is fine with having no identity' Then you could talk between the difference of the 80s where there was a defined culture that is still known today and our current 10's and 20's where you don't clearly see that cultural definiteness. Of course, this is just an example and ultimately you can do whatever you want. These are just my ideas that came to me for the success of the channel.
@MaxwellNichols

I appreciate your well thought out ideas, but my goal isn't just to blow up or to make viral content. I'm trying to discover what works for me, first. I do not want to be a video essay creator, though my content will run adjacent to it. I think my next video will better illustrate the direction of the channel. I've uploaded 6 videos in 3 years yk, theres really nothing here yet.
