The lead vocal on this song is by Gerry Rafferty, who had huge success as a solo artist with songs like Baker Street, Right Down the Line, and Home and Dry. Incredibly, Rafferty had left Steelers Wheel before this video was shot, so they have another member singing with Rafferty's voice! Please react to Baker Street!!

They're purposefully imitating Bob Dylan's style in this. A classic song! The video is shot in a comedic style very much like Monty Python. (Not sure where it originates.)

I thought with the drag queen and the spaghetti it might have been a reference to Magical Mystery Tour

Yeah, I can hear Gorillaz, for sure. Gerry Rafferty is the singer,but that’s not him in the video.Rafferty has said that he was jokingly trying to mimic Bob Dylan.

I love this song and video. Also the beads. ❤❤❤ More quirky British stuff. Crackerbox palace by George Harrison. Anything by George Harrison and the traveling Wilburys also.

I don't believe anyone claiming to have never heard the song - certainly since 1992 we've all, erm, leant an ear to it at some point.

The '80s had much great music but it can't compare to the '70s. I lived through both.

This song was from 1972 lol. Definitely not 80’s for their music. I was in 6th grade when this song was out.

@@BridgetBailey47 No, I was responding to the comment in the video about how some love the '70s more and some love the '80s. I wasn't saying this song was from the '80s.

The video is annoying, distracting, and irrelevant. This song was fine for years without it. My 2 cents.
@SirWrecksy3 ай бұрын
strongly disagree...song is about the lecherous greedy music industry moguls and their piggish, selfish desires...Gerry Rafferty, negotiating his band's contract had to sit with them for lunch...very relevant and a masterful depiction of disgusting people
