There is a difference between disability and social security. When you retire and pull social security it does not matter how much money you have in the bank. Also many people have retirement funds and pension that they get. Social Security does have a cap on how much you can continue to work and earn, that is a percentage of how much you get from Social Security.

I understand wanting to hide a one time inheritance. She would lose all her benefits and that is ridiculous. The government gives you help with one hand and takes with the other hand. My friends' daughter passed away on July 28th. She had CP. By August 3 Rd the government wanted a refund for the entire month of July. She was so devastated she didn't reach the deadline and then they threatened her and fined her. Oh Wow, 2 damn days and they wanted the entire month!!! The poor and disabled never have a chance to get out of poverty.

People’s Court isn’t a regular court, and is actually an arbitration. I’m not sure what happens if the person doesn’t pay what’s ordered, but I’d hope the victim of their actions to not stick to the ruling would prompt them to notify the legal system of their breech. You sign a contract agreeing to honor the outcome of the arbitration when you participate in it.

as true as that may be, if she's on SSI, SSI cannot be garnished. She can have the judgment against her and it will stay there but payment cannot be forced. I know this because my ex-husband is on SSI and he owes me a ton of child support but while it is still accruing, they can't garnish it from him because of his status on SSI

The defendant is a conartist who conned her friend and cons the gov. This isn't the first time she "hides" money from the gov. She should be investigated fully by IRS
