It was real Russian. He's said "Не вижу, где он?" - "Can't see him, where is he?". And then something inaudible. Later, when a 30 was on his 6, the pilot uttered some really good Russian: "The target is ready to be hit", literally. lol. Worth noting they speak w/o accent. :D
@ZarviroffSerge
@ZarviroffSerge 4 жыл бұрын
@@AudieHolland Really? Huh. It always causes a chuckle here in Mordor when Russian comes up in films/shows. Even the big ones. For example, in one of the marvel movies, where in the beginning some Russian military men were interrogating Scarlett Johansson' char, during the aerial shot the cam was panning downwards and a huge billboard crawled into view with some "Russian" ad in it. It read something like "ЫИРВЫФИР ЫТОФР!" - not words at all. :D Another example is the best spy series in history of the universe: The Bourne franchise. In the Identification, Bourne was looking through his passports at a Swiss bank. One of them was Russian. In English his name read Foma Kinyaev. In Russian it was like "ЩШЩШТР ВТЦЦ" - like, literally, you can't even form a single syllable from those letters. :D Should've been "Фома Киняев". And the all time classic, the Arny's Russian, and his meme-atic "COCAINUM" dialog with a dude from Russian mafia. For the very same reason (the immigration) and also taking into account the budget of these films it used to baffle people here - why couldn't they find a Russian dude to, at least, write proper Russian? They speak good clean Russian in Homeland, btw.
@AudieHolland
@AudieHolland 4 жыл бұрын
@@ZarviroffSerge Hollywood is mostly trash with most of the budget in its productions spent on shiny things and big explosions. Have you seen the movie "Moscow on the Hudson (1984)?" Not Robin Williams' best movie but it gives a glimpse into the lives of Russians who chose to defect/depart to the US of A during the Cold War. And about bogus 'Russian texts' in movies, I would spot those because even though the cyrillic alphabet is a bit different, most letters are like the western (Greek) alphabet.

@@ZarviroffSerge > In Russian it was like "ЩШЩШТР ВТЦЦ" It was 'Ащма ЛШТНФУМ', i.e. literally the same keys as in 'Foma Kinyaev', but with Russian layout instead of US. >why couldn't they find a Russian dude to, at least, write proper Russian? They do sometimes, e.g. in 1997's Peacemaker (the one with Clooney). There are russian characters played by russian actors, ex-yugo for ex-yugo, etc.

If you look closely, there is a lift fan behind the cockpit and the so-called 'bomb doors' are actually downward-directed exhaust ducts. I know. It's very silly. Right after this movie came out a woman posted one of the promo shots of Jessica Biel in the cockpit while the plane was on the carrier with the caption "You go Cmdr. Kara Wade! Proof that women can also become Naval aviators in our newest, latest aircraft!" While women can and do just that, the woman who posted really did think it was real. I didn't have the heart to break the news to her.... Also, this it from IMDB: 'The film made $76.9 million, against a budget of $135 million.The $58.1 million loss made it one of the biggest box office bombs of all time.' That is a big problem for hyper sonic vehicles. Hyper sonic means the craft, usually a missile, can go over Mach 5. OK, so the aircraft can get there, but no there is a fuel problem. Yeah, the aircraft can go long distances quickly, but it is a glider over 80% of the time because it takes a lot of fuel, at best liquid oxygen, to move that mass at that speed.
@spamaccount1680
@spamaccount1680 4 жыл бұрын
@@orlock20 Not quite. Nowdays, experimental hypersonic vehicles are usually airbreathing (yes, some are boosted to hypersonic speeds by a rocket motor, others use purely rocket motors, but many hypersonic vehicles developed, and most in development, are airbreathing). Airbreathing vehicles don't have to carry an oxidizer, so fuel isn't an issue anymore (yes, hypersonic speeds means high TSFC, but high speed means your distance per unit fuel isn't degraded as dramatically). However, hypersonic vehicles (especially with a human inside) have massive turn radii (the SR-71, which is not hypersonic, already has a turn radius the size of texas), so it is possible to go from the middle east to north korea even while you're banking as hard as you can.

From what I remember from seeing this movie when it came out, the reason they were trying to drop the bomb on that building at a 90-degree angle is because the building was super-reinforced and apparently gravity alone would not have given it the momentum/energy needed to punch through all the layers of concrete and destroy the structure without affecting neighboring buildings. In case anyone else besides Mover was wondering. 😄
