I find it funny that people say everyone knows it's a camper van, because I promise you, I wouldn't have a clue if I saw your van on the side of the road. But I also mind my business -- if something isn't hurting me, then I don't worry about it. The world would be a better place if all people just minded their own business.

I'm loving the multiple uploads this week. To increase your stealth have you ever considered buying some magnetic signs that you could throw on the outside of the van that makes it look like it's a commercial vehicle? I saw another KZbinr do this. He had two signs that said "Vortex Industries" or something like that. It's a non-descript name, so people would have no idea whether you should or shouldn't be in the area. It's enough for anyone driving by to classify you as someone who might have a reason to be there.

There are plenty of places (eg. laundromats, restaurants, grocery stores, auto dealerships) to get water in urban areas if the tank is portable. That's the primary reason I use AquaTainer jugs (I have space to fit up to 6 under my couch if desired). Only a few times have I been denied when requesting to fill my 7 gal container. The other advantage of small, portable tanks is that they can be easily cleaned. Or replaced, if they get too icky.
@IBrainedMyDamage2 жыл бұрын
So many issues man. Remove the container, clean it, refill it, reinstall it, replace if broken or busted.. do this every few days.. so many things we take for granted living in homes.

The chicken stock was probably not opened. You could hear the click of it opening when you went to open it. There are teeth under the cap that break a seal when you open it, so that you don't have to pull some kind of seal off. I learned this after I threw away like 2 containers and couldn't figure out why all of my stock was open.

You must be balling to fuel up at Chevron. For me it's mostly Arco or whatever is cheapest. I'm a Veteran, so I have access to buying fuel on military installations, usually cheaper than most stations outside the base. In Ventura county though, we have one gas station that is the cheapest in the county. No amenities, restrooms, mini mart, etc.. just fuel. I use the app GasBuddy to find the cheapest fuel around me.

I used to do abatement in some of those houses, they’re unreal. Most of the people just own the houses but are not home. The only people home are the maids whom live there and care for the house full time. Also your van is a total stealth van dude, only “van life” nerds say it isn’t. Normal people don’t look at that van and think someone is living in there. I honestly assume those vans are a famous person running errands.

Hey Ryan. I'm just getting into the whole van life thing. Why is stealth van camping frowned on?
@dextermorgan40932 жыл бұрын
People that spend a lot of money on a house don’t want you sleeping out front. The issue is really homeless people. If they let the responsible people park then the homeless in their shit motor homes will park there as well. Where I park my semi when I go home is no parking from 11pm to 6am. It’s an industrial area. I asked the sheriff if I would get a ticket, because I live in Southern Cal and there is no place to park a Semi, he said don’t worry about it, signs there so we have more legal recourse to make certain people move. You still take your chances. Same thing at Walmarts. Many Walmarts have no over night parking signs but I have never been bothered. Some will enforce it though. It’s a game. Some places are serious that’s why they have the no parking signs, some put the signs up so it’s easier to kick you out if you are making trouble. If everybody would act civilized and respected their surroundings we wouldn’t have these issues. But of course humans are basically garbage so that’s that.

Try parking there for many days in the same spot and see what happens, my guess in the cops or private security would ask for your ID and ask you to move, it would make a great video to see how long you would be able to stay there before you get into trouble

Ryan, consider putting your filter at the rig end of your hose. That way, any bacteria the water passes as it travels through your hose is being filtered as well. Some people actually put a filter at each end. 🧡🍁💛🍂🤎

I think a white van is stealthier since many businesses and contractors use white vans. So when you're parked in a white van people kind of discount it as Hey that's probably a technician or something. The dark grey color is cooler looking than a white van but also more unusual and kind of eye catching. Not as commonplace as white.
